We booked a room at the Tadross a few weeks ago, price quoted was £45.00 for a double room and breakfast. We arrived at 830pm on Saturday 14th January and were told that they close the doors at 1am and that the continental breakfast was served from 7am to 10am.
The room was okay, nothing special, we headed out immediately to visit friends, returning at 0045am but were unable to gain access without phoning the hotel first as they'd neglected to give us a front door key. Once inside, all was well.
We went downstairs for breakfast about 915am only to find that there was no bread, milk or hot water for tea and coffee? There were two already opened cartons of juice in a small chill cabinet which we refused to touch as we seemed to be the only guests and had no idea how long they'd been open. We were unable to find any staff for a while despite shouting. We eventually found an Irish guy who worked there (cleaner?) and who immediately said the lack of breakfast was nothing to do with him. To be fair, he went to a small shop across the road and returned with several pints of milk and 3 loaves of cheap sliced bread for the two of us......
By now we were very disappointed and decided that we'd skip breakfast. I spoke to the owner via the Irish guy's mobile, who agreed to a £10 reduction in price in lieu of breakfast and who sounded a bit angry as he said he employed staff to cover breakfast etc. We gathered our belongings and went to the reception to pay but were unable to find any staff. After 10 minutes a young long haired lad appeared to take payment. I tried to explain what were doing and the price reduction and it seemed he was responsible for the lack of breakfast, He didn't apologise and got defensive when I pointed out he was trying to still charge us £45 instead of £35. Once we'd paid, I stated that I'd never stayed in such a disorganised hotel, his response was "What do you expect for £45?"..... I asked him if he was taking the p!ss and had to be lead away quickly by my partner.
In short, avoid this hotel at all costs, the experience was dreadful with "customer service" apparently an alien concept.
