We were hurried into our rooms, the landlady didn't really want to talk, and even getting a recommendation for an evening meal was time pressured. The house was quiet and we slept well. The rooms are very flowery and a bit dated, ours was clean although our travelling companions said they had a dirty shower tray. There are insufficient electric points and you can't use the mirror and hairdryer at the same time. The breakfast was good, but you have to order EXACTLY what you want the night before. All guests sit at one table, and the landlord buzzes around behind you while the landlady stays in the kitchen and you can hear her through the hatch giving instructions. Not sure why she doesn't come out, she didn't even come out to say goodbye when we left?? Not sure what would happen if you didn't want the yoghurt you thought you might like the night before...Landlord was friendly and when we chatted to him after breakfast we did at last feel like we were perhaps actually welcome. This was not what we were expecting from the earlier reviews. Perhaps they had end of the season blues. It all had a certain amusement value and some of the barked instructions from the kitchen were so funny we had to stop catching each others eyes for fear of giving ourselves away. (Chop chop)
