“What an amazing find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

We had an amazing stay from start to finish. The hostel is really well maintained and decorated to a high standard. The kitchen/lounge/communal area is comfortable and inviting. Our accommodation exceeded my expectations - amazing value! The room was cosy, a good size and really nicely decorated. The bed was super comfortable with a full memory foam mattress, needless to say we slept like a babies.

The village (Trefin) is quiet with good links and adds to feeling like you're really getting away from it all. The costal path is literally 5 minutes from the door of the hostel where you can walk for miles and miles with breathtaking views. A great cycle route runs just past the hostel.

The breakfasts were great and really set you up for a day of exploring. After reading other people note/review how tasty the porridge is, we were not disappointed – it was delicious!

We would not hesitate to recommend the old school hostel and we hope to return again. Thank you Sue and Chris

“Great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

A well planned and managed hostel. Friendly hosts and guests. We had a private room for two for L32 per night. There is a large, fully equipped kitchen for self catering. Nice sitting area with interesting library. Common room with TV. Breakfast and box lunch are available. Short walk to coastal trail with dramatic scenery.

Room Tip: Reserve early for best selection.

“Excellent, unique Hostel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

We arrived after a 12 mile walk in pouring rain on the Pembroke coastal path and were met by the delightful Sue. We were able to dry our clothes in the drying room, have a hot shower and a cup of tea in the comfortable lounge. The rooms are fabulous and had a shower and basin in each room. We had a delicious breakfast of caribbean porridge and jam on freshly baked bread, washed down with a cafetaire of coffee. This is a hostel that is bordering on a boutique hotel in style. We will certainly be back to visit when we do a bit more of the coastal path. I highly recommend a stay here.

Room Tip: Lovely posters and books in each room, as well as a very comfortable bed

“What a find, its one of a kind.”

You know the situation when you see a good weather front coming in combining with the chance to get away from work for a few days makes you get onto the internet and look for an interesting place to stay that will significantly add to your enjoyment of the short break well this is what happened to me last week. Researching accommodation in Pembrokeshire I came across this independant hostel that has been converted from the typical hostel accommodation into a unique, modern, colourful, clean, characterfull place to stay. All of this must be given credit to the couple Chris and Sue who have put in many hours of work creating what I consider a unique place to stay in.
The character is made from many personal possesions that Chris has acquired and displays around all the rooms. A statue of the Metropolis robot looks out over the sink in the kitchen and guards the tea bags. Marylin Monroe looks lovingly at you when you enter one of the bedrooms. The colour of the rooms are warm and cheerful.
Chris met us as we pulled up in our car and was most welcoming. Having made us a cup of tea we went off on a tour of the schoolhouse and shown our room.We not only drank the tea but the passion that Chris has for the place and the enjoyment he has at sharing it with his guests. A hearty breakfast in the morning of a special porridge made from mashed bananna and oats drizzled with honey was a good start to the day and should not be missed.
Thanks
