During a short break at the end of September, I found myself in the Pembroke area of West Wales and found the Ocean Haze Hotel in a tourist guide. To be honest it wasn't my first choice, but as time was running short, and the other hotels I had phoned were fully booked, or only offering 2 night bookings, I jumped at the offer of a twin bedded room. The description advised that there was a laundrette and petrol filling station on site, so I expected a noisy night. How wrong I was! OK the outside was uninspiring, but once through the doors, it transpired to be quite homely. The staff were very welcoming and showed me to my room, which was light and spacious. Being on the ground floor, it had however been adapted for disabled use. This only manifested itself when you went into the en-suite bathroom.... One, there was no bath and no shower tray. What there was though were 2 chairs suitable for disabled folk, only one tap for the wash basin and a drain hole in the floor. My cousin, who was with me remarked that it was just like the bathrooms in the London hospital he had spent some time in recently... Apart from not mastering the wash basin tap, it all worked very well!
At the rear of the room was French doors onto a communial patio area, with distant views of the sea.
Breakfast was of a good standard with the staff again being polite and helpful.
