“Highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2011

Lovely, friendly hotel. Felt at home right away. Room was clean and comfortable with excellent facilities. I will be eternally grateful to the family for all the help they gave when I left an item of luggage behind. It was parcelled up and delivered to me the next day. Wonderful service. We look forward to staying there again and meeting the family again.

“The friendliest B&B I've ever stayed in”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

Ocean Haze is very much "family run", and we couldn't have received friendlier welcome or more thoughtful service. Cristina also gave us great recommendations for the best places to eat evening meals.

"Ocean Haze", is actually a rather modest name-the room we stayed in had a fantastic sea view that made us go "wow," as we walked in...and a balcony from which to enjoy it.

The room itself was clean and comfortable. If I had to be ultra-picky, some fresh sealant around the bath wouldn't go amiss, but that's not anything that would have disrupted our stay. The room was also very quiet and peaceful.

Yes, the B&B is next to a petrol station (also owned and run by the family) but as we discovered, in rural west Wales, this is a good thing-we would never have found paracetemol anywhere other than the petrol station shop by 8pm at night!

Breakfast was lovely, with a good veggie option, impossibly fluffy scrambled eggs and the chance for my meat-eating husband to swap black pudding for what he assures me were delicious sausages.

All in all, we would definitely stay here again, perhaps even if our real focus was to be another town in the area. A great place for a relaxing break!

“friendly and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2010

The room was very comfortable with an opening door onto a verandah with a view of the sea. There were facilities for tea and coffee making (except the last evening when the milk was forgotten) A Freeview TV with radio was provided. Breakfast was plentiful with help yourself fruit juice, cereals and toast and a wide range of hot dishes served by helpful and friendly staff. It is a joint venture with a garage and shop yards away which allowed me to buy a paper for breakfast. The bad news was that no one was around after 8 or 9 pm and it was a fair trot out of town.

“A bit down at heel, but it did the trick.”

Not the plushest place, but very friendly staff and good breakfast. After spending three weeks travelling, this turned out to be the quietest place we rested our heads during our whole trip. Probably a great place to stay if you're on a walking holiday etc. Does not win any prizes for the prettiest hotel (it's beside a petrol station), and although the room was a little dated, it was spacious and very quiet. A ten minute walk outside St. David's, and only twenty minutes drive from Fishguard ferry port.

“Much better than expected!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2008

During a short break at the end of September, I found myself in the Pembroke area of West Wales and found the Ocean Haze Hotel in a tourist guide. To be honest it wasn't my first choice, but as time was running short, and the other hotels I had phoned were fully booked, or only offering 2 night bookings, I jumped at the offer of a twin bedded room. The description advised that there was a laundrette and petrol filling station on site, so I expected a noisy night. How wrong I was! OK the outside was uninspiring, but once through the doors, it transpired to be quite homely. The staff were very welcoming and showed me to my room, which was light and spacious. Being on the ground floor, it had however been adapted for disabled use. This only manifested itself when you went into the en-suite bathroom.... One, there was no bath and no shower tray. What there was though were 2 chairs suitable for disabled folk, only one tap for the wash basin and a drain hole in the floor. My cousin, who was with me remarked that it was just like the bathrooms in the London hospital he had spent some time in recently... Apart from not mastering the wash basin tap, it all worked very well!
At the rear of the room was French doors onto a communial patio area, with distant views of the sea.
Breakfast was of a good standard with the staff again being polite and helpful.
