“Feeling of Splendour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

This mansion turned B&B provides the best of home and luxurious living. After a day of walking, we were welcomed by a gracious hostess who invited us to tea and wonderful, historical conversation. The mansion was a delightful place to recoup after a week's walking. The central location is great; walking distance to the Castle where we attended an evening of symphony. The breakfast was delicious with home made jams added for an extra special treat. The rooms were immaculate and wonderfully decorated with several types of tea offered. If staying in Penfro, this is the place to stay.

“The unique experience of Penfro”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

If you want a bespoke holiday which offers you a wonderful restful experience of Pembrokeshire - you will find it all in Penfro. From the moment we entered the wide arched hallway we were enchanted.
We booked this as a birthday present for a friend just for the weekend, though it can be likened to a time slip as we felt we had been away for a week! The ambience is just superb - we have never stayed anywhere comparable. This is the former town house of the Earls of Cawdor, and rather than the bland boutique hotels this has been restored to make you feel as though you are staying in the home with all the luxury and comforts sensitively in place. The web photos do not do this justice, our friend was overwhelmed with the Burgundy room - a room fit for a New Romantic poet and with a few surprises! Each room had its own story and we were constantly finding interesting artefacts and features. Breakfast could be described but is better tasted - the home made preserves delicately served, eggs perfectly cooked, every attention from the hostess to each clients' tastes. It is also a great location for exploring the outstanding county and coast without the problems you encounter in Tenby at night and much more reasonably priced. What you gain in peace of mind and restored spirit is invaluable. Will definitely be back. Diolch.

Room Tip: All rooms have views, if you want the ensuite then the Pembroke room is best but our friend preferre...

Great place to rest the body and soul. It was a warm and inviting place to come into following a long walk in the rain. Our hostess was so great to dry the walking shoes and provide a warm and comfortable place to rest. Great breakfast at that wonderful table. The whole house felt like home - truly was a great place to rest.

“An absolute triumph”

Having just returned from our weekend trip in Pembroke, I thought I'd take the opportunity to update all that are interested in Penfro, the most comfortable, homely and historical b&b I've ever stayed in.

The room was immaculate with a selection of videos, CDs and magazines,Toiletries, perfumes and Lots of tea and coffee, chocolate biscuits and sweets for our arrival.

Fresh milk in a fridge on the landing outside our room, and our own designated filtered water bottle- soley for our use!!

The decor was traditional, the area very quiet and the facilities were tremendous, our hostess even called the local restaurant to book our Saturday evening meal.

The gardens and terrace area are huge, allowing for a few guests to enjoy the garden but still have their own privacy- and afternoon tea with homemade meringues were a highlight.

If I could give this b&b over 100% I would. Fantastic hostess, amazing home. Can't wait to go back.

“Beautiful Georgian Mansion turned B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2011

The unassuming front of this B&B hides a beautiful and large interior. The owner, Judith is rightfully proud of this and upkeeps it to a high standard, maintaining many of the original georgian features inside. Homely touches and comfortable beds, Judith goes out of her way to look after you. The building is 5min walk from the centre of Pembroke & the castle is well worth seeing. Parking is streetside but fairly plentiful. One morning, we had to leave very early, but having mentioned this to Judith, she still had a wonderful breakfast waiting for us. The price we paid for the room was less than that of a cheap hotel in the area but with all the personal touches mentioned above and more. We will definitely be staying there again. Thank you Judith!

Room Tip: Ring up beforehand and speak to Judith - she'll describe all the rooms for you and let you choos...
