“Just what we wanted”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Had two regular (classic) rooms and one larger deluxe room due to its ground floor easy access. All had what you would expect from a 5* although some may find the classic rooms we had, at the top in the eaves, perhaps small particularly if double occupancy.

Extremely comfortable beds which coupled with the peaceful location gave an excellent nights sleep. Powerful drench shower in classic rooms (wet room in the deluxe), complimentary paper and excellent breakfast (with marvelous locally gathered field mushrooms) all made for a wonderful break.

Room Tip: Higher rooms (2nd floor) less spacious

“Expectations exceeded…….”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Great overnight stay here, only a few minutes off the A40. Can’t think of anywhere else in Pembrokeshire that has rooms of this quality, room spotless, bathroom large with bath and “rainforest” style shower. Complimentary bottle of water and newspaper. A large lounge was also available for use of ours and the neighbouring room, great to have that extra facility particularly if you were staying for more than a night.

Had a meal from a set menu with choice of 3 starters/mains/desserts. Friendly prompt service, food was fine, coffee wasn’t great, but hey that’s being abit fussy!

Breakfast was served on a table overlooking the grounds and the Cleddau River beyond. Plenty of choice of cooked items and the usual cereals/fruit etc.

Only thing I would change would be the reception area which is contained in a small side room, our initial impression was that we were walking upto a storage shed..perhaps the provision of a porch and enhanced lighting/signage would improve that first impression and provide abit more room for guests, particularly larger groups arriving in poor weather.

Would I go there again…you bet. Well done Slebech Park.

“Delicious Food, Restaurant Lacking Atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

We went here for Sunday lunch on a rainy day in September. We ate in the restaurant which was not in the main building and looked newly refurbished. Unfortunately, the restaurant lacked atmosphere - it would probably be lovely on a hot sunny day sitting outside overlooking the water or on a cold winter's day snuggled around the open fire, but on a wet, grey September afternoon it certainly lacked something.

However the food was really delicious and the Sunday Lunch Menu was extremely good value. I would certainly recommend it for the food.

The staff were all very polite and efficient, but it appeared that they had to travel some distance to the kitchen so sometimes the service was a little slow, but through no fault of their own.

Despite the minor negatives I would say it was still well worth a visit.

“Hotel excellent - meal disappointing.”

Excellent welcome.

Our room was clean and very cosy. Along with the tea, coffee etc. was a note to say that if we wished to use fresh milk we had only to ring reception. My wife did this, and the milk was delivered shortly afterwards - a very nice touch.

When we went for our evening meal, we again experienced excellent service from the waitresses. The starter and dessert were superb - unfortunately I cannot say the same for my main course. I ordered steak with black pudding mash. When it arrived, the mash and accompanying vegetables were barely warm. I informed the waitress who apologised profusely and took the meal away to change it. After a while I received the replacement, which was only minimally warmer. By this time my steak was no longer rare-to-medium and had become as tepid as the rest of the meal. I was very disappointed, but didn't have the face to complain again.

We slept well in a very comfortable bed. The following morning, after a very tasty breakfast, we went for a walk in the grounds of the park. The scenery and surroundings are superb and are really something to be seen.

It's a pity that, despite all the good we experienced, my lasting memory is of the meal. As the hotel was of 5* quality, the first attempt should have been right. I would have been prepared to overlook this error under normal circumstances, but to find that the chef couldn't be bothered to correct it properly was quite upsetting and, frankly, unforgiveable.

Thank you for your comments about your stay as a whole and I am pleased that you found Slebech Park so comfotable. I can assure you that our head chef is very diligent about these matters; you have however highlighted a communication issue between the kitchen and the restaurant which we have addressed as a result of your comment.

“Magical stay !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

Booked a special offer including dinner bed and breakfast here. last weekend. What a fantastical place, from the moment Jessica answered the telephone booking to the returning of our keys. Proffesionalism is the key word....
Beutifull room overlooking the estuary, and had an upgrade which cost a little more but more than worth it, room superb top class....from the eguiptian cottom bedding to the Molton Brown toiletries...
Food in the resteraunt was out of this world and my breakfast once I had made the choice from the mouthwatering menu was smoked salmon and scrambled eggs... the best I have eaten.
This is a real getaway from it all place and simple instructions given on booking made it easy to find.. Will definatly be returning.

Room Tip: Despite its size about 15 rooms only, so if you see a good bargain book it.
