stayed in the county hotel last month with family and a group of friends for a wedding, hotel was very clean and respectable, bed sheets were changed daily, and rooms provided nice condiments.meals were very nice and reasonable prices.service was excellent. 5 minute walk from local bars, resteraunts, shops, and all ammenities.rooms were very nice, and spacious with nice interior.staff were all very polite and friendly, especially enjoyed our late night drinks with brian the night porter who was very helpful and made our stay thoroughly entertaining! would definately go back again!

The only good thing was the kind staff who were clearly embarresed by the attitude of the management who could not have cared less. Having double booked the room I was in they proposed that the only solution was to pack up for one night only and share with a relative. Non of the management were around in the evenings and the restaurant shut every Sunday night but this was not relayed to the guests. We were left trying to get my immobile mother to a local resturant accross busy roads. On pointing out the problems the attitude was a shrug and thats your problem. Very upsetting as they knew full well our stay was because a relative was critically ill in the local hospital.

The positive things first: The hotel has free car park that's closed at night, the staff was friendly, and the location is good (a bit noisy though).
Now the negative: Reception area looked OK, but a bit old-fashioned. The room stank of cigarettes, the furniture was poor and the cleaning personnel was in a hurry when they cleaned the bathroom. I'd put my shoes on when I walked the two meters from the bed to the bathroom because the carpet was very old and dirty.
Please choose another hotel.

I passed through this far side of South Wales recently.

There is a small car park beside the hotel into which I estimate 8 or 10 cars can be put with some chance of getting out again.

Reception was friendly and efficient. The room was ok. Nothing at all special and, like the building as a whole, in need of a refurbishment if the owners are to make the most of the excellent location within the town and the surrounding area.

Food was fine. Again, nothing special. Whilst the barmaid did supply our drinks as ordered we amended the orders to reflect what was available.

Would I recommend this place ? Like another location in Haverfordwest to which I have travelled before (The Pembroke) this hotel is at risk of gambling that its location and accessibility will protect it to some extent from the harsh winds of change that need to pass through if there is to be a return for the owners. Failing that it will descend into mediocrity and profits will follow !

As such a recommendation would be made but on a very guarded basis.
