“Eccentric charm and superb food”

Food here is excellent, the bar is tiny but well stocked with a good real ale, wine and spirits. Run by wonderful characters with good taste. Incredible views over the bay. Don't expect hotel chain imperfection - its well lived in, no nonsense but extremely comfortable, tasteful and unusual. Not cheap - the view, food and atmosphere makes it worth it.

“For those amongst us who like a bit of heart and soul!”

Having moved to Pembrokeshire a little over 2 years ago I was captured by the beauty of the place, and upon being introduced to the unique and admittedly quirky Druidstone I immediately fell in love. I can understand the need for crispy white towels and smarmy receptionists who seem only too happy to provide an extra sachet of deluxe conditioner, but these soulless establishments have their time and place! The Druidstone is a true gem of a place for those travellers amongst us who value a bit of heart and soul. Not only will the location capture your hearts and imaginations, but so will the ability to truly kick back and relax - which really is what a holiday should be about, no? It is so refreshing to be able to walk in to the Druidstone without the fear of disdaining looks at disheveled hair and slightly sandy feet, with doggies in tow after a long and blustery walk on what can only be described as one of the most beautiful and undisturbed beaches of Pembrokeshire. My husband and I had the most wonderful wedding there in September and have enjoyed a few of our most memorable New Year's Eve parties there immersing ourselves in the electric atmosphere of live bands. For those 'boho-sceptics' who feel the need to have a 5 star silver service tea at their disposal on every holiday I would say ... better stick to the soulless chains that spend your well earned money on egyptian cotton and mindless pillow fluffers! The Druidstone deserves its place amongst the top places to visit on the Pembrokeshire coast.

“A Magical stay at the Druidstone!”

If like me you can remember coal fires in railway waiting rooms and would half fancy going through the wall onto platform two and three quarters with Harry Potter to another world , I can recommend: The Druidstone . There is a wizard in the kitchen who on my arrival ran out of the kitchen singing the delights of rice pudding with coconut and caramilsed bananas! There was magic in the old house with the sound of the wind and sea hammering on our bedroom window. The bed: huge and wonderfully comfortable and at last a feather pillow! The staff are all family friendly, none of that awfull corporate hotel stiffness and false bonhomie. There is a dog who could be a cast member of the Potter films: Dash the dog! a white small and wiry terrier. On my arrival in the bar i sat on his sit and after a brief bit of sparring we went for a walk later. If you like people, old houses, the sea and food dont miss out.

Edward Carol and Meg Inglefield.

“Top for children and dogs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

We stayed in a cottage a mile up the road over half-term and ate here for one lunch and two evening meals in the downstairs bar. The party consisted of 2 adults, a 7 year-old and and a sometimes damp and slightly whiffy Golden Retriever. We could not have found a more relaxing and comfortable environment. During our visits we feasted upon such delicacies as spicy lentil soup, hummus, meatballs, mixed kebabs, peri peri chicken and the most incredibly sized cheese board ever.
If you have children, dogs or are just a little muddy you will feel very much at home in the downstairs bar.
Although we did not eat in the dinning room upstairs, I would imagine a similar experience less the dogs who are barred from this room.
If you are looking for faultless operation with spotless clientele you may come away disappointed!

“Absolutely Fantastic!!!!!!!!!! pulled out all the stops!!!”

I recently held my wedding reception at the Druidstone Hotel in Pembrokeshire. Myself, my husband and all of our guests have commented on the brilliant, welcoming staff and fantastic food and service. I honestly couldn't have wished for a better day. Jane and Angus (the owners) did everything they could to make the day as I had wished ( I left a very long list of instructions!!!) - I was very perticular about the decoration of the marquee and table plans etc and they couldn't have done a better job- it looked amazing!
The food was fantastic- perfectly cooked and the deserts are still being talked about amongst friends 4 months later!!
The location of the hotel is fantastic, the gardens have beautiful flowers and quirky walls and gates- obviously the hotel is right on the edge of a cliff so the views are breath taking. Great for photographs!!
We had to book out the entire hotel for the weekend, which was fine- the rooms are very cosy/quirky with specatular views.
We were up until the early hours of the morning and the staff were very accomadating bringing us cold meats and cheese as a late supper before bed!
Breakfast was also fantastic- the food here is really really good and they are very generous portions!

I couldn't speak more highly of The Druidstone hotel and very much recommend it, I visited all of the other venues in Pembrokeshire before booking the Dru, nothing quite matched up, if you are after something a little different with character this is your place! Tastefully delightful!!!!
