“Quirky, unique and they sent my scarf back!”

What a great find. We just visited for dinner but loved the quirky and original decor, secret bar and delicious home cooked food. Beautiful views and friendly staff. I also accidentally left my favourite scarf behind and they sent it back to me! Highly recommended for something a bit different.

“Safety Nightmare - Fire Brigade do something!!!!”

There is quaint and charming and then there is downright dangerous.

Do not allow elderly relatives with mobility issues to stay at this delapidated "hotel". They have little chance of safe escape in the evnet of fire, but they will burn quickly once the tacky wood panelling takes hold.

Given the recent tragedies with hotel fires in Cornwall, I am surpised this establishment is allowed to remain open. Spend the night there at your own risk.

Try the measly cold cooked breafast. The black pudding looked and tasted like something the cats had passed several days before.

Enjoy a shower as the fiitings dangle from the walls, followed by a peacful nights sleep only interupted by the crashing of loose sash windows and the sounds of guests walking about above you.

The worst value for money hotel I have stayed in since 1981.

Room Tip: The safest room is a tent in the garden

“OMG!!!”

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Was staying here whilst on business for the night, and my my what a joy!
From the first moment I walked in, it felt like a home from home for me. Quirky is a word that had cropped up in many of the reviews and that's what makes this place feel so special.
Another special mention goes to the foodie theme night. It was Jamaican last night and boy that is up there as some of the best food i have ever had! The mackerel was to die for.

I only hope to have more business excuses to visit again :-)

“Superb food in a stunning location”

This was the third time we had eaten at the Druidstone and it was as good as ever, We did pre-book our table as we knew from past experience the place is popular and unlikely to get a table on a Saturday evening without pre-booking/ a long wait. The food was delicious, in fact so good we couldn't resist 3 courses which was really being greedy as the portions are generous in size. Service was good and the setting gorgeous. Shabby chic is how I would describe the decor - the curtains have been replaced since our last visit, but the place was clean and welcoming. The restaurant is not cheap but I do think it represents overall very good value for money. We will definitely be back next year.

“Loved it”

A group of ten friends, meeting up to celebrate two 'big' birthdays. I felt we coulds be in a film. and the settingof the Druidstone accentuated this. The location is wild and beautiful, the house is as other reviewers have described, quirky, colourful and very atmospherice with lots of corners to explore and hide in, whatever your age. There were fires and plenty of heaters to keep us warm. I had the best gin and tonic ever in the bar and enjoyed the food. Service at times got a bit muddled, but honestly some of that was down to us, taking the wrong breakfast ...
If you don't want to traipse along a corridor to the bathroom, check when you book, I didn't mind but I was in love with the place as you can see.
