“The most gorgeous and comfortable B&B I have ever stayed in”

We stayed for three nights at the gorgeous Cleifiog and honestly felt a bit woozy from its loveliness. We stayed in the 'Tapestry' room, which is enormous, overlooks the sea, and has one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in away from home. Tea, fresh milk, and a constant supply of biscuits are left outside the room each morning, and really delicious full English breakfasts are made to order.

The Cleifiog is within a three-minute walk of the town centre, castle, etc. As Beaumaris is tiny, you needn't worry that it's a few hundred yards "outside of town". The average person can walk from one end of town to the other in less than five minutes, so this is still well within the town walking range!

If you haven't hired a car, you can easily walk to the castle, the gaol/courthouse, and eat in many lovely pubs and restaurants. I recommend the Brasserie at the The Olde Bull's Head Inn on Castle Street and Sailor's Return on Church Street. There are also Puffin Island boat trips that depart from the Pier area.
If you want to see any of the sights around Anglesey, you're very well connected here. There are two main roads that can take you to the sights if you've hired a car.

Finally, we enjoyed the friendly company of the owners and staff, as well as Maisey the black Lab. :-)

Just wonderful.

“Excellent!”

We stayed at Cleifiog B&B for one night, on our way to Ireland, Gill was an excellent host, the room was very comfortable and attractive and we had everything that we could possibly need. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of variety. Beaumaris was an interesting little place, and we wished we had been able to stay another day or two to explore it properly.

“Cleifiog is a beautifully restored home owned by an extremely welcoming family and with lots of homely luxuries”

We had the perfect fews days relaxing in our fabulous room, looking across the Menai Straights at the weather and tide changes and enjoying every moment of our visit. Gill is extremely welcoming and there are lots of lovely touches to the rooms and service. We recommend 'Tapestry' but all three rooms are special with unique features.

Beaumaris is definitely the place to stay and we found a couple of good places to eat in the evenings. There was a surprising amount of things to do on the island and worth researching before you go. There is however, a lot of good literature on Gill's coffee table in the sitting room, so don't worry if you don't get a chance.

I must thank Gill for her delicious veggie breakfasts and for posting forgotten articles back to us. You will wish you could stay longer and I'm positive we'll be visiting again!

“Lovely bit of luxury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2010

I was in Beaumaris for emotional reasons and needed to find somewhere comfortable where I could relax and chill without any bother....I certainly found it here.
The room was amazing, huge with a lovely luxurious feel without being prententious. the bathroom was also amazing, clean with super soft fluffy white towels.
On arrival was offered tea and biscuits and shown the lounge and breakfast room. Was given my own key to room and front door so really felt home from home.
Room has all you need, confortable bed, TV, a good selection of teas and coffee with fresh milk and more yummy biscuits.
I certainly will stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone x
