We stayed for three nights at the gorgeous Cleifiog and honestly felt a bit woozy from its loveliness. We stayed in the 'Tapestry' room, which is enormous, overlooks the sea, and has one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in away from home. Tea, fresh milk, and a constant supply of biscuits are left outside the room each morning, and really delicious full English breakfasts are made to order.
The Cleifiog is within a three-minute walk of the town centre, castle, etc. As Beaumaris is tiny, you needn't worry that it's a few hundred yards "outside of town". The average person can walk from one end of town to the other in less than five minutes, so this is still well within the town walking range!
If you haven't hired a car, you can easily walk to the castle, the gaol/courthouse, and eat in many lovely pubs and restaurants. I recommend the Brasserie at the The Olde Bull's Head Inn on Castle Street and Sailor's Return on Church Street. There are also Puffin Island boat trips that depart from the Pier area.
If you want to see any of the sights around Anglesey, you're very well connected here. There are two main roads that can take you to the sights if you've hired a car.
Finally, we enjoyed the friendly company of the owners and staff, as well as Maisey the black Lab. :-)
Just wonderful.
