“Lovely, peaceful, child friendly, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

We stayed in a very large family room with a double and two single beds right at the end of the stables, not a brilliant view - of a large bank of grass, but it meant it wasn't overlooked, and was lovely and quiet. We arrived much earlier than arranged, but that wasn't a problem at all and the very lovely owner made us very welcome, with lots of local knowledge and advice.

The room was very cosy, lovely comfy beds, a bit chintzy for my liking personally, but each to their own, and we weren't planning to spend much time in the room, being so near to everywhere in North Wales, Anglesey, Snowdonia and the Gower.

In the morning, had a nice breakfast, kitchen was being refurbished, as we knew when we booked, so there wasnt a cooked breakfast, but at least they do proper Latte and Cappucino, I'm willing to bet the cooked breakfast would have been great, as they have chickens on the farm so I imagine the eggs are fresh. (They also have a lovely pig, but let's not go there). After breakfast the kids were allowed to feed the pig, and that for them was the best part of the stay.

I would definitely stay there again, it was perfectly placed, just a few miles outside Caernafon and about half an hour from the Gower, big family room, not just a normal room with a sofa bed and friendly helpful hosts.

Room Tip: The 'stables' area was all ground floor, so good access and you can park your car outside.

“Can't argue with the price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

Let me say first, that we thought the value-for-money here was excellent. I'm pretty sure we paid list-rates but there are lots of other places we know which offer a whole lot less for much more money.
We phoned first and the lady said they were full, but we had a feeling it was still worth a shot so we decided to call in. The gentleman we saw was very helpful and showed us to the large and well-equipped en-suite room with a king-size bed in which we spent a very comfortable night.
The only negative was my girlfriend finding that the bath failed her "hair-in-the-plughole" test .......but, to be fair, lots of places do!
The general layout of the establishment is more like a motel, but this didn't detract because it's only a short hop from the large car-park. Breakfast is "continental" only, but we found it to be quite generous and served at until a time which permitted a Sunday lie-in.
To summarise then; our brief stop-over at The Stables was very pleasant and we'd certainly stay again if we find ourselves in the area.

“Quiet, clean, friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

Beds were very comfortable, everything very clean, bathroom a little on the small side but everything worked. It was the quietest hotel room I've been in for a very long time and a good night's sleep was had by all. It's a five minute drive into Caernarfon and there's really nothing around the hotel within walking distance, but since we used it as a base to go out to Pwllheli, Porthmadog and Caernarfon that wasn't a problem. Breakfast was contintental buffet, and all the staff we met were very friendly and efficient. We even got to feed the pig in the field, which impressed our children no end! A very good value break.

Room Tip: Family room (York) had one double bed in the middle, and two singles, one either side. The room look...

“Don't hesitate to book a holiday here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

My aunt and I spent a fortnight at The Stables over the August bank holiday. The initial welcome we received was excellent and things just continued to get better and better! You are guaranteed great hospitality and standards here. My aunt felt it was the best holiday she'd ever had. Thank you, Mandy and Paul, for a wonderful and restful break!

“Friendly and clean, good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

We stayed here as a base to visit Snowdon recently. The owners were very friendly and helpful, giving us lots of information on the local area. The family room for 2 adults and 3 children, was clean and plenty big enough ( child age 11,13,15). The breakfast room was pleasant, and a very good choice of food, and the owner made us feel welcome, and even opened up for breakfast early especially for us! All in all, a good value for money hotel, ideal as a base to expolre Snowdon, Caernarfon and the surrounding area. No doubt we will be back again in the future.
