We stayed overnight in mid January as part of a National Holidays weekend to Chester and Cheshire Oaks. The hotel is very pleasant. The staff were cheerful and friendly especially Sam and the breakfast staff. We had a problem with the electric room heater and it was replaced within a few minutes. The evening entertainment was a duo of singer and accompanist who were very good. The only niggle was the seating arrangement at dinner and breakfast which was a table for 10. Sharing a table with strangers is not our cup of tea even though they turned out to be very nice folk. We were told the hotel had 4 coachloads of visitors that evening so it was more convenient for them to serve the food this way but not what we would have liked. There was not a great deal of choice on the menu but it was good value and the breakfast was better than the evening meal. Partly serve yourself (cereals etc) and part served out (bacon, eggs, sausage etc). The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. A kettle and tea, coffee, sugar etc was in our room and extra pillows and blankets were there if needed.
