I have stayed in this hotel 3 times as part of National Holiday weekends and it never dissappoints. The staff are friendly and efficient, the food is very nice, the bar area is lovely and the rooms are warm and well equipped. It's by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in with National Holidays and is excellent value for money! I've already booked my next trip

“North Wales Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

This was the 3rd occasion that my wife and I have stayed at this hotel. As on the other occasions the welcome was very good and checking in was trouble free. The rooms were their usually clean self with adequate tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast was well prepared and plentiful. The downside of this stay was that the Dining was closed for evening meals and we had to settle for Bar Meals. WE had not been previously informed of this especially as in the past the food and staff were very good.

I'm sorry that you weren't told that The Orchard Restaurant was closed before your arrival. We close The Orchard Restaurant in December and January, December due to Christmas parties and January because of lack of bookings means there is no atmosphere so we just have the Arches Conservatory open. Please accept my sincere apologies you were not told this on booking and hope to welcome you back again soon.

“Good value overnight stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We stayed overnight in mid January as part of a National Holidays weekend to Chester and Cheshire Oaks. The hotel is very pleasant. The staff were cheerful and friendly especially Sam and the breakfast staff. We had a problem with the electric room heater and it was replaced within a few minutes. The evening entertainment was a duo of singer and accompanist who were very good. The only niggle was the seating arrangement at dinner and breakfast which was a table for 10. Sharing a table with strangers is not our cup of tea even though they turned out to be very nice folk. We were told the hotel had 4 coachloads of visitors that evening so it was more convenient for them to serve the food this way but not what we would have liked. There was not a great deal of choice on the menu but it was good value and the breakfast was better than the evening meal. Partly serve yourself (cereals etc) and part served out (bacon, eggs, sausage etc). The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. A kettle and tea, coffee, sugar etc was in our room and extra pillows and blankets were there if needed.

“Hotel a bit dated but staff, room and food more than make up for that”

Stayed for a business trip in January and after reading the reviews was alittle worried but I had no reason to be! - the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, large room, comfortable bed and excellent food.

I am heading back to Mold in Feb and won't hesitate to book this hotel again.
