A first glance at Plas Ifan might lead you to think more poorly of it that it deserves. The gardens around the building are lush but certainly not overly manicured. The building itself it solid but definitely not overly maintained. But do give it a go! Michael and his lovely wife Swann have created a little haven of peace where you can relax and unwind and they will go out of their way to take very good care of you. This is not the lavish kind of experience you will get in one of the chain hotels. There are no special facilities to speak of but you may find that the place grows on you nonetheless. The wonderfully light and airy extension to the building is hung with many pictures and there is even a rather old piano there you can play if the mood takes you. The bubbling fountain by a little footbridge in the garden adds a gentle Zen-like quality to the place. Nothing here is new. Nothing is old beyond its function. The breakfast is well prepared and served with gentle care. There is free WiFi available should you want it. Recommended.
