Having stayed at Maelgwyn House for a few days at the beginning of December 2011, we would be only to happy to highly recommend Bridget and Derek's wonderful hospitality in their lovely B&B. Our room was beautiful overlooking the bay and Harlech Castle, with Mount Snowdon in the distance we couldn't have asked for a better view, our breakfast was superb. Bridget and Derek's attention to detail is faultless and nothing was to much trouble for them, we look forward to staying here again on our next visit to North Wales.

Bridget and Derek are superb hosts and Maelgwyn House has a lovely atmosphere. The room was first class and the veiws of the bay and Harlech Castle from the bedroom window were superb. Breakfast was wonderful - especially the crispy bacon, and if you love Marmite you'll be keen to know that there is a lovely pot waiting for you! Over breakfast Bridget and Derek chat to you about your plans for the day, and give recommendations, based on your interests, of places you might like to visit. Derek's excellent artwork surrounds the house and he is very happy to talk about the pictures. The sat nav will direct you to the back of house but Derek is very used to that and you'll be greeted by a friendly smile! All in all an excellent stay - well done both of you and good luck for the future. You deserve continued success.

We have stayed with Bridget and Derek several times now and have kept meaning to add our comments to Trip Advisor...sorry it has taken us soo long! We can confirm along with lots of other people that this is a very special B and B. We have stayed in many types of accomodation here and abroad but this is our favourite and definitely the best. Everything is of the highest standard: cleanliness, decor, food and location. It is a luxury venue where attention is paid to almost the smallest detail. Derek is a fine artist and his work can be admired over breakfast and whilst lying in bed (and purchased! We now have a sitting room wall covered in his work!). Bridget is the most hospitable, warm and friendly host with a genuine interest and care for her visitors. The Harlech area has so much to offer in terms of scenery, beaches and mountain walks. All of Snowdonia is within easy reach. The views from Maelgwyn are spectacular, especially from the front bedrooms but our personal favourite is the attic back twin-room facing the garden as it is like having a luxury apartment. It has a bedroom, hall with coat hooks and large separate, luxurious shower-room! We love it. B and D have worked tirelessly to make Maelgwyn the best B and B in the UK and be assured, it is.

We stayed at Maelgwyn for five nights in the twin bedded room on the top floor, it was spotlessly clean, the ensuite was roomy and had a hot towel rail which was lovely. The room was well kitted out and very comfortable. Derek and Bridget were very friendly and welcoming, they were a great help advising us on good places to dine and explore.. Breakfast was tops, their eggs are locally sourced and were particularly good. It set us up nicely for our active days walking! The surrounding area is very picturesque and was also a good base to venture round Snowdonia National Park. We wanted to stay another week!
