“Not a recommendation”

There is no less than 1 point for this hotel, so I'll stick to 1. But this not really reflects my opinion about it. It's a really horribel hotel. And I've stayed in quite some hotels. I mean, I did have hotels worse than that. But that was at countrysides of 3rd world countries.

Well, anyways... it's basically all been said in other evaluations. The room was reasonably big, but that's about all positive one can say about it. It was nasty and loud. Towels were not really something one would like to dry up with after taking a shower with barely lukewarm water.

The biggest disappointment was the breakfast, however. Not only was the breakfast room run down and looked like a construction site. The waitress also said that that day, she was out of gas and could not warm up the breakfast. Things happen, but then still charging $1.50 for a banana instead of giving bananas and apples (since there was nothing else there, no bread or bagels, jam or yogurt, nothing) away for free as a courtesy to the guests is just not the right way (to say it politely).

We stayed in this hotel only because we came at a bad time when all other hotels were full, and the only place we could get late at night was this hotel. But I don't recommend staying there, unless it's like an emergency and you otherwise have to sleep in the car. It's not for no reason that a sign at the reception says "No refunds"...

“THE worst place in my life!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 March 2006

We just came back from the worst hotel/motel experience. The Airport Inn should not operate their business. Where should I begin?

The overall room - it was smelly, molded, cracks in the wall, stains everywhere, and very badly installed windows (if you stay here, don't even think about staying the first floor. Someone can easily break into your room).

The worst towel provided ever - only two medium size were provided for 2 adults. they were smelly and the color were gray and yellow, but I assumed these were originally white.

The cold shower - the water coming out from the pipe felt not clean.

The bed - cigarette burns and smell. We asked for non-smoking room, yet, there was an ashtray...

The NOISE from the airport and the highway - I could not sleep. I am usually not sensitive to noise during my sleep, but this place is an exception. Every 5 minutes I woke up due to airplanes and car/trucks!

The NOISE from others staying and working here - Wow, the entire night someone was walking, talking, laughing and yes fighting. Another reason I woke up every 5 minutes.

The breakfast - we were told that there would be a complementary full-service breakfast incl. eggs, bacon, hasbrown, toast etc. No, no, no! The woman at the breakfast room told us that they had no gas. She did not even give us toast, but she tried to sell us banana for $1.50.

The other customers - yes, it won't harm to bring a bullet proof jacket. Scary, scary, scary! Some people are not just staying here but living here! A homeless shelter may be even better than here! One man who wanted to use the PC (yes, there is one PC for the internet access) for more than 15 min limit. He started cursing a receptionist and others who were waiting for the PC. He said "you were a --- racist, I demand an apology" etc. It was scary.

The reception - later we found out that there was a sign over the reception "No Refund, No Exception". We now know why. At least we were lucky to book for one night.

The price - not worth for paying $53.99 plus tax! I had a better place in the past for this price! We want our money back!

Please please stay away from this place. Drive some more if you cannot find any other place, please beleive me! I have not posted this negative review before, and I am not a demanding person, but this place is the worst in the US, the worst in the world!

If you are a state/federal agent, please search and inspect this place please!

“Do not stay at this motel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 March 2006

Please learn from my mistake and do not stay at this establishment. It is dirty, rundown and spooky. We made a reservation through Orbitz for a non-smoking room but were initially placed in a smoking room that reeked. The second room was actually worse. My daughter's feet were blackened from walking across the carpeting barefoot. The furniture was covered in an oily film. We complained and requested a refund but were refused. We were so digusted that we left and booked another motel on our own. I contacted Orbitz and they tried to intervene but management still refused a refund. Orbitz said it would send a representative to do a facility review.

“Good enough for $40”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2006

We stayed there 2 nights at the end of Dec 2005 and didn't have any major problems. They hadn't received the reservations we made the day before at hotels dot com but they let us checkin w/o too much fuss anyway. The hotel is kinda run-down but it was clean enough and everything worked. Due to the neighborhood and some of the other guests, I felt a little less safe than in other hotels but nothing bad happened and the staff was helpful and courteous. Our non-smoking room included a fridge and microwave but don't expect Hilton-level or even Comfort Inn accomodations. The reasons to stay here are the low cost and close-to-Graceland location.

“Forgettable”

Yes it's close to Graceland, but there are closer places to stay like the Scottish inn, or Gracelnad Hotel if proximity is important to you.
Corridors and rooms are dark and dingy. there was a man sitting on the floor playing with his dog outside our room. There was some loud concert on nearby and the rooms are not sound-proofed. It's by the airport so naturally you do expect airport noise but a loud concert? Not ideal when you are trying to get to sleep. Don't trust the hotel to give you a taxi number... just book a yellow cab if you need one. The cab number given to me by the hotel.. well, they never turned up after 2 calls and waiting 40 minutes when we asked for a cab immediately.
There was a man on security but only at 11pm and he was so rude. He asked where we thought we were going when we approached the lobby in a taxi after a night out on the town. Our English and Aussie accents did not tell him we were tourists? This is an airport hotel, who was he expecting to see? In the end we had to announce our room number and show our room key to proceed any further past the security point! Not a nice way to treat paying guests. One lady, driving the shuttle to Graceland was super nice and friendly though, she is the hotel's best asset. Find another place to stay in Memphis...
