I will start by saying I am not a fan of the city of Memphis. I had business at St. Jude for a week and need a close inexpensive hotel for my trip. This hotel fit the bill, only 3-4 mile from St. Jude and with-in the company budget. Having never stayed at a HI express I wasn't sure what to expect. The area was not great but I think that describes the whole city so no negatives to the hotel there. Check in was fast and simple. The room was small, only one double bed and a small table to work at. A negative if your travelling for business. After searching for 10 minutes for a power outlet for my laptop i found one next to the large hole in the wall for the phone jack. That was another negative. According to my business partner that was one floor below, it looked like I got the more updated room than hers. I would hate to see what her room looked like. I will say the room was clean but needed an overhaul. The worst part of the stay was the free "high speed" internet. Using it was almost painful compared to what I'm use to using. With all the negatives of the room the front desk staff was very helpful with removing some incorrect charges to my credit card and with some of the issues I had with the room(TV only had one channel the first night). Breakfast was really good, I have a serious weakness for cinnamon rolls and they had them hot and fresh each morning along with your standard hot hotel breakfast items. Over all not the worst place I've stayed but far from the nicest.
