My husband and I went to Memphis for our anniversary. We chose this hotel because it was a great deal. The room was clean and except for the lack of a fridg, it was an o.k. room. However, on the last night of our 4 day/3 night stay, we returned to the hotel to learn the electronic keys didn't work. We also noticed that someone had been in our room and gone through our things. When we went to the front desk to find out what was going on, we were given two different stories about the keys not working and were treated like we didn't have sense enough to know that someone had been in the room while we were gone. The desk clerk eventually told us that we would have to talk to the hotel manager about it in the morning. The next morning upon checking out, we questioned it again. The manager said she had deactivated the keys because we were suppose to check out on Sunday afternoon instead of Monday afternoon. However, our reservation was for 5/4-7/07. We asked her about why someone had been in our room. She stated that she had been the one in the room. She said that because of what she thought was our check out day, she needed to get credit card information for the extra night. I asked why did she go through the room. She stated that she had to verify that someone was still in the room. I asked her why did she have to go all through the room. She stated that she had to verify someone was in the room, again. However, all of my luggage was at the door on the dresser. How much more verfication did she need? There was no reason whatsoever for her to go through our things and through the room. She didn't offer any type of an apology. Her attitude was sort of like "I did it, now get over it." Nor did she give a satisfactory reason for being in our room. If you are looking for privacy, stay away from this hotel!!!
