The hotel is in a great location. It's quiet and well off the main road. There are so many places to eat and shop in that area. I was visiting family that lived about 25 minutes away and it wasn't a bad drive from the quiet of the country to the hustle of the little area of Hacks Cross. The hotel itself is very very nice. Clean, stocked fully, Nutragena toiletries. The bed is probably one of the most comfortable I've slept in while staying at a hotel. Seriously. The room is divided with the bedroom and bathroom divided by a door you can lock and the sitting area, eating area and full kitchen (with a full fridge, dishwasher, stove and sink). When I closed the front door, it was like I was in a little apartment. Really dug the place. And the front desk reps were SUPER friendly. I would definitely go straight back to Homewood Suites when I go back. By the way, as of July 2011, their rates were far superior for what you get to the other hotels in the area. And I got the chance to use my first ever senior discount to get that amazing rate!

We had trouble finding the Homewood Suites as it is set back from the road and was hard to find at night. Friendly enough welcome. Decor definitely needs updating - many the carpets (rugs) that are showing their age. But, they may be reluctant to do this if they get a lot of groups. There was a football (soccer) competition on at that time with lots of girls and their parents staying there. So that would explain the the $109 plus tax rate - you get what you pay for. The room was clean but looked tired. Spacious as usual with a Homewoods Suite. Location was fine for driving into Memphis. Restaurants and shops close by. I was a bit disappointed with this hotel - wouldn't have wanted to pay more for the room.
Breakfast service was fine and the janitor responsible for restrooms was very polite and friendly.

Don't let the few people who gave negative reviews deter you on an awesome hotel stay experience. I give it 10's all the way! My family of 4 (myself, husband & 2 children) had a 3-night stay. From reservation to checkout everything ran smooth as silk... Professional staff; beautiful room decor, complete with granite countertops, cherry furnishings and internet. Although some have written that the hotel is "3-Star" it certainly feels "luxury" in this guest's opinion. Sumptuous, inviting king size bed with crisp sheets and tons of pillows... Awesome!! Great value for the money. We saved $$ with the "hot" complimentary breakfast which featured a new selection of items each day, including eggs, waffles, sausage. The evening reception was a great bonus and also a money saver-- dinner, including wine and beer-- unbelievable! The staff's courtesy was impeccable.. Miss Betty, (Dining host) doesn't ever meet a stranger and makes everyone feel as if they are the single most important guest at the hotel. If the awesome accomodations weren't enough, Miss Betty single handedly gives this Homewood location a good name and fine reputation. I wish I could've spoken directly to a regional manager or something so I could relate what an awesome staffer she is! Book your room. You won't regret it. P.S. Don't penalize the hotel because a large group (i.e. the basketball team mentioned in previous review(s) has unruly conduct)-- Report it and/or request a different room- I'm certain the capable management staff will resolve any issues you encounter-- so go ahead and enjoy your stay!!! I certainly did.

We stayed here only one night and if I have the chance I will do so again. Plus, we were travelling with our two small dogs and they accept them for only a $25.00 fee. It is well worth it to stay in comfort. The pet rooms are toward the back of the hotel and it really is very quiet. Front desk staff is polite, friendly and professional and it was quite noticeable since we had just stayed in a LaQuinta elsewhere in Tennesse for 4 nights with a totally opposite experience.
