The Holiday Inn at the University is a very nice hotel with spacious rooms suites. The rooms are all suite-style - a small living area up front, with a wet bar and sofa, with a connected bedroom/bathroom area in the back. The rooms are nicely appointed, and the entire hotel was very clean and fresh. Our bathtub was clogged and very slow to drain, and we received immediate assistance when I informed the front desk.

The restaurant was okay, mostly buffet style dining, and the decor was out of sorts with the rest of the hotel. Food was good, service was very good, and overall not a bad place to eat. We didn't try the breakfast, only dinner. The bar was not open during the week, and when it was open it closed very early - almost like an afterthought at times. The restaurant and bar are my only reason for not giving this a 5 star rating.

The hotel is part of the University of Memphis, and is used as a "teaching" hotel, so I thought that was a neat concept. The staff were all very, very nice, and I would definitely stay there again.

Friendly staff, spacious rooms, well kept hotel inside and out. Nice neighborhood also. Good value for the location.

This is an excellent hotel. Perhaps a bit pricey, but not unreasonable considering it is next door to the University of Memphis. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were well cleaned.

All suites provide lots of room for a family. There is a pull out sofabed and a separate bedroom. Both rooms have TVs. Coffee, creamer and sugar are provided with a coffee maker, a microwave and small refrigerator in the "living" room space occupied by the sofabed and a desk. Free Wi-Fi is also provided. What's NOT provided is breakfast. Most hotels these days offer a continental breakfast. The restaurant served a breakfast buffet for $8.95 with coffee, tea or soft drink, cereal, juice, fruits, eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, potatoes, biscuits and gravy. During the week, the buffet offers made-to-order waffles and/or omlets. Overall, it's a comfortable hotel, but priced at over $100 per night, I expected breakfast to be included.
