“Fluctuating water temperature not a great way to start the day!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011 via mobile

We were accommodated with an early check-in, very helpful. Room was small and a/c not working well. Small bathroom and water temperature and pressure very average. Breakfast quite good and microwave and fridge in room good also. Only 1 elevator which was frustratingly slow and also shared by hotel employees, service elevator needed. Free parking a plus but no complimentary newspapers.

Dear Ducky/Bray--thank you staying with us during your recent visit through Memphis. We really appreciate any feedback and share everything with our entire hotel staff!!!

I am sorry to hear that you had problems with your a/c and water pressure. I have already spoken to our maintenance head to look into.

As for our one and only elevator, I do understand it can be quite limiting, but please note that our building is over 20 years old. However, I am glad that you did enjoy our deluxe hot breakfast bar.

Please let me know if there is anything else which I can do for you.

Sincerely,

Nonni Bakshi

“Great Location-Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

My husband and needed a place to stay on our way to and from Florida to break up the driving. Having stayed in Memphis many times, we knew of several very nice places, but didn't want to pay an arm and a leg. We were VERY pleased with our choice with Best Western Galleria Inn and Suites. Great location! Close to the interstate, places to eat and shopping. Reasonably priced hotel with large, tastefully decorated rooms and very clean. Very friendly staff and better than average breakfast items offered. We will be choosing this hotel again and again.

“Fine, but a few missing details for such a high price.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

Stayed on a Friday night in October. Check-in was smooth and easy. Room appeared to be clean, but hallway and room smelled musty. Hall smelled like someone had been smoking and it was supposed to be a smoke-free hotel. Would liked to have had an extra blanket in the closet since there is no bed spread on these beds.
My shower gave me about 5 shots of ICE-COLD water. Not sure why--if it was someone flushing next door or what, but it was unpleasant. I was pleased that they had mapquest directions to various sites and they had street maps.
Breakfast was fine. Overall, a good experience.

Dear Beechcomber, thank you for taking the time to complete our survey and inform us on our performance. Please note that all guest comments, reviews, and surveys are shared with our entire staff.

I am sorry you had a few-seconds cold burst during your shower. I have personally shown your review to my maintenance and they are already looking into it.

As for the bedspreads, we stoped carrying them long ago for hygiene reasons, but do have extra blankets and pillows available for guests at front desk.

I am glad you enjoyed our breakfast and the several sights which our city has to offer. If there is anything else I can do for you, please let me know.

“Along the Journey”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

Memphis was not our destination, it was a one night stop on our journey. It's the second time we've stayed there. Our room was clean, beautiful and tastefully appointed. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. We were on our way to a counselor conference at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN.

Room Tip: We stayed on the ground floor and it was still quiet. Good thing we did, too, since there was a tor...

“old dingy bathroom & smelled like smoke but clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

I used the Tripadvisor 8.7 rating and happily got this room for $47 "flash deal" for a last minute college visit, but I think you should still know what you're getting, regardless of the price you pay. First, the positives: Nice entry area and breakfast area - stylish and inviting; nicely laid out and lovely furnishings and carpet. Spacious and quiet and clean room, comfortable beds, and kitchenette with micro, minifridge, and coffee maker. Nice looking room (except for the "vintage" bathroom); free wifi and parking, Very safe suburban location with lots of chain stores and restaurants and a shopping mall within walking distance. Generous generic hot and cold breakfast items including egg "patties," sausage, make your own waffle, instant oatmeal & grits (so southern), fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, muffins, danishes, bread to toast, butter, jams and spreads, cold cereals, juices and milk, teas, and coffee. Now for the bad: The room was a smoking room on a smoking floor (room 406) even though the reservation specified non-smoking (we went to a nearby gas station and bought car air fresheners and put them on the AC unit which helped somewhat); the bathrooms were so old and strange and small! Pink square tile (from the 70's?) and spindly rusty bent wire towel bars, ceiling so low it was like being in a closet (but it was clean at least). The location was safe since it was a nice suburb, but it is about 20 minutes to drive downtown, which was fine for us but some people would mind so it could be a negative if you didn't know. Also, the desk clerks had a major attitude when we checked in (which is why I didn't want to complain about the smoky room). I asked for an upgrade - and offered to pay for it- to get a larger room with a sofa bed so my kids (a boy and a teen girl) wouldn't have to share or have one sleep on the floor, but the clerks acted like I was crazy to even ask because of the rate I got - but, again, I DID offer to pay for the upgrade. So we had brought blankets in the car so we brought them in and one kid slept on the floor - so now we have three blankets and two pillows in the laundry room waiting to be washed to get the smoke smell out. Would I stay here again? Maybe (for $47 and not much more). But I would make sure the room was nonsmoking and ask to be moved if it wasn't regardless of the clerk's attitudes. But, I have no idea what else is available in Memphis and for what price.

Room Tip: Floor 4 seemed to be a smoking floor

Dear Ms. H--thank you for completing our survey and letting us know about our performance; your words, as are all guest comments and reviews, are shared by our entire staff. I am sorry you did not like the decor of the bathroom although we did a major renovation of the entire hotel last year. I have already made a note of it and will be speaking to our interior designer about her thoughts. Please let me know the next time you will be returing to the Memphis area, and I would love to make it up to you. If there is anything else which I can do for you, please let me know.
