The hotel seemed to be what you would expect when paying 40 bucks a night... UNTIL our second night, when someone (who obviously had a key) tried to come in our room! The latch at the top of the door kept him from coming in, thank God, but did not deter him from standing there peering through the 2 inch gap the latch allowed him, even after I screamed "HEY!" I yelled at him again, to get out, and finally he shut the door without a word. When I called the front desk, the lady tried convincing me it was our imagination, then asked if I seen what he looked like. I called back 2 min later to ask who had a key to our room... her story changed to one about her hearing a couple quarreling (apparently with her super sonic hearing, since we were on the 5th floor) and she sent housekeeping to check on it. I angrily went down to the lobby to demand a factual explanation, and found that the lady had left to take housekeeping home... hmmm! I waited for her return, she stuck to the couple quarreling story and pretended not to understand english. I called customer service for super 8 upon returning home, they listened and told me I would hear from the manager. I received a very generic letter from him that basically said sorry for the inconvenience, we look forward to serving your hotel needs in the future. WHAAAT??? PLEASE heed this warning... we were two women traveling alone, and we would have left on the spot had we not had a .38 in the room with us, which laid right next to me on the bedside table the rest of the night. And, a sidenote: a man was complaining in the lobby the following morning about people trying to come in his room even with the do not disturb sign on his door. Unreal!
