I took a school group to Memphis and had a total of eight rooms. After I reserved the rooms I read the reviews on this site and honestly was a bit worried about our upcoming stay. Let me say that I was completely satisfied with everything from the pre trip arrangements with the sales staff, the check in, the rooms, the service from every member of the staff that I encountered for three days, and the check out. I have stayed in over ten different Hotels in the Downtown Memphis area, and this one ranks and one of the best. Thanks for a great experience.

Nice hotel. Friendly staff. They genuinely treated me well and were helpful in terms of telling me where I needed to go to downtown. The hotel is conveniently located to points of interest downtown. You can get a ride to Rendevous and be there within minutes. The lobby is clean and has a professional appearance.

The front desk attendant was a really friendly guy and he joked with me about my sister freaking out while she checked in. I was like, ya she was freaking out... and he was like, she's gonna blame it on you. And I knew that was true.

The valet showed me where I could park across the street for free. I gave him a dollar for helping me out and he was like, chill. Great service all around.

The room was nice and furnished quite modernly. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean. Nothing to really remark upon besides for it's nice, comfy pillows. TV, microwave etc.

Memphis seems great. It was a bit flooded while we were there.

The hotel is in a nice location and is priced well I would say.

There really is no excuse for this hotel to be in the condition that it is. Considering the array of very nice hotels in the Memphis area; this property bears a name that is known for quality, great service and a luxurious experience. But it falls short of that from the time you arrive until you checkout. For what you pay...just go stay somewhere else (thats what I did). There are other outstanding options in the Downtown Memphis area and until this property steps up their game there is absolutely no way I would come back.

The hotel is heavily dated - it's obvious they did some kind of renovation - but it does not show well at all. Everything about the property seems halfway done. My first room was horrible...not clean, and incredibly uncomfortable - the second room didn't cut it either; I walked out and stayed elsewhere.

The staff here lacks everything hospitality; I was greeted by a rude valet that wanted to comment on how "sweet my car was" needless to say I self parked. The front desk experience I had was by far one of the worst I have experienced and I travel often. I usually don't tolerate rude...and I should have simply left at hello.

The rooms...YIKES. If you are paying $150+ per night for a hotel that brands itself on being one of the best..you somewhat expect a nice inviting room. This hotel lacks that. You will find a cheaply remodeled room with uncomfortable modern furniture and bathroom that lacks any real refurbishment at all. Gross and Dingy. Now I may be picky..but this hotel uses florescent light bulbs for absolutely everything...I know that sounds picky, spend every waking hour in a hospital and office format..surrounded by stark white light all the time; one of the most inviting and relaxig things I can get is a nice warm room with incandessant lighting. All in all the room reminds me of a hospital room. It offers no real escape from life...basicly it is a place to sleep that delivers crap for service.

By far my worst hotel experience in 2011...when In Memphis...stay elsewhere.
