“Thanksgiving morning breakfast was inadequate- the waitress/server was extremely rude and totally INHOSPITABLE!!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2010

Being Thanksgiving day, the hotel lacked certain items at the breakfast buffet- no eggs, no waffles etc. by 8:30 a.m. and when a few people asked the waitress " Are there any more waffles?" she shrugged her shoulders and said ' I GUESS NOT!!!!!!' Well we dont want her to 'GUESS' we the CUSTOMERS look for factual answers- we would not pay extra if the hotel would not give us what we needed for breakfast. Another customer asked for eggs and she just said" Oh the breakfast is almost done!! and by 9:00 am the Front desk man and the rude waitress were already cleaning up- as if to ask the customers to leave-- mind you they said that just on thanskgiving day they would be open till 9:30 a.m.-- This negative fact overshadowed my impression of this hotel- unfortunately-- cos the room was clean and the rest of the place was alright!!

“"Creepy"”

I would give this Fairfield Inn a "1" rating but the 'check in" guys were so helpful and friendly, I felt they made this place bearable. Part of the issue with this Inn is the approach to it is through what appears to be an abandoned parking lot...driving through this parking lot gives you and uneasy feeling, and you are approaching the back of the hotel (this also doesn't help). The welcome area and breakfast area in the front seemed nice enough, however the halls are dark and unwelcoming (adds to the creepy feeling)...our room was dark and there must have been a 1/2 inch of dirt under the A/C unit which made us really question how clean the rest of the room was...we couldn't sleep well because we was generally concerned about someone breaking into my car (we carried in everything visible in the car, but since we were traveling across country the trunk was full)
To be fair, none the hotels on this particular exit look very appealing...the next morning we realized we had stayed in the Drury Inn on this same exit (other side of the freeway), which was a poor experience as well. Perhaps this is just a bad area overall.

“Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2010

I was concerned about getting this hotel on priceline after reading some of the reviews. My husband, our nine month old son, and myself stayed two nights. The beds were comfy and all linens were crisp and clean, which is very important to me. We took advantage of the free breakfast which consisted of a variety of muffins, Activia yogurt, english muffins, a variety of cereals, and "make your own" waffles. It was a typical continental breakfast and was good for the price we paid. Price was dirt cheap by the way on priceline, less than half of what the other hotels wanted just a few exits up. The part of town was not the best, but my husband is a self defense instructor and safety fanatic and he thought it was ok. The only downside really was that the ceiling seem to be a little thin and I could occasionally hear walking on the floor above our room. Staff was great.

“The staff and the accommodations were great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2010

My wife and I stayed 5 nights. The staff was excellent especially,J'cinda, and Marcus. Tonya,Unice and Rob were very helpfull also. The staff were very knowlegeable about local attractions. Where to shop, eat. They gave very good directions and printouts on how to get from one attraction to another. They staff went beyond the usual customer friendly smile. They made our visit to Memphis truly memorable. The room was nice , clean and comfortable. We would definely stay again

“Not the best Fairfield.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2010

Room was fine, no complaints there. We had major issues with people stomping around upstairs and a group of kids that ran up and down the halls all night long. Nothing was ever done about them. Area around the hotel isn't that great. I had a very uneasy feeling the whole time. Hotel was easy to find, a few decent places to eat nearby. Hotel did have free wi-fi that was good. While we had no overall problems with our actual room or the staff itself, I probably wouldn't stay here again, just for the location.
