“Clachaig Inn Glen Coe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2012 NEW

I booked into the Clachaig on the spur of the moment and was met with a very cheerful and welcoming lady (originally from South Africa) My room was excellent with a wonderful view over the Mountains. The Clachaig is a very busy Inn, especially when I was there as the weather was excellent, I ordered a Burger and waited 1.5 hours for it to eventually arrive, after three or four prompts!! yes it was annoying, but the kitchen had lost my order and after eating the Burger I was given a full refund and a pint on the house, not bad customer service. I ate in there another night with no problems, but let's remember this is a very busy place serving "Pub Grub" at a reasonable price with good service.

“Great place be careful what food you order”

Ok I love this place and we stop off every time we camp up this way! its got great real ale selection and a great atmosphere but watch what you order! husband had steak pie which he said was one of the best he had ever had! I has a very very disappointing haddock and chips that cost over £10 and was rubbish! Frozen tasteless food! This place and its customers deserve better!

It will not put me off coming back but i will be much more careful what I order!

Room Tip: Dont get fish and chips

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit. I am disappointed that you did not enjoy the fish and as regular visitors I hope we can tempt you back for a some more great ales, atmosphere and of course the steak pie. We are currently reviewing our menu and your feedback is very much appreciated.

“Worth a visit.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 May 2012

We went to the Clachaig Inn on a Saturday evening, after a long drive up from West Yorkshire to our rented cottage in Ballachulish.- We went for dinner and to hear the live music. If this is something you want to do, get there early - in the Boots bar, to get a seat. Good food and a lively night. Great atmosphere. We also ate in the lounge bar later in the week. - They have a good selection of real ales (husband happy!) and good food. It is a bit pricey, but worth it when you're on holiday. Set in stunningly beautiful scenery.
A lovely outdoor adventure play area for children.
Would be good for the manager to respond to all the reviews and not just the positive ones?

Room Tip: Didn't stay overnight

“A disappointment.”

We decided to stay in the Clachaig whilst walking the WHW. Having booked over 9 months in advance we were given a pokey little room at the rear of the building, above the kitchen, with no view apart from a metal roof and the outside beer drinking area.
The food was average. The wife had the Clachaig chicken and the poor quality of the meat was evident from its high water content. The meal came with vegetables which consisted of one sprout, three carrots and some baby corn, all looking like over boiled yesterday's left overs.
We'd heard many good things about the hotel but came away let down. They appear to have become complacent relying on the location to pull in the guest and forgetting in these hard times customers deserve better value and service for their money. Next time we'll stay at a B&B in Glencoe village.

Thank you for your review following your recent visit. We are very much a family business at heart and have never been complacent about our location. We go to a lot of effort in sourcing the very best of local produce and I will be speaking to our supplier regarding your comments. Allocation of room type is determined by availability and unfortunately not all our rooms have stunning views. I am confident our front line staff would have addressed your dissatisfaction with your meal had they been given the opportunity at the time.

“Excellent pub near Glencoe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 April 2012

We were staying at the nearby campsite in April 2012 and went to the Clachaig Inn for food and drinks. The food was excellent, with some real Scottish delights on the menu. The lounge bar has a great selection of drinks, including 7 real ales on the night we were there. There was an excellent atmosphere for a wet Wednesday night in April including an impromptu live performance from some guitarists who happened to be traveling through the area. This Inn is highly recommended for a visit if you are going to be in the area.

Thank you for your feedback following your recent visit.
Maybe you'll try a room at the Inn next time should the weather not be suitable for camping, you never know we have some more travelling guitarists.
