We booked The Braefield for a long week end, using the previous 2 reviews as a guide. We were not disappointed. The Braefield is in a super position overlooking Portpatrick and is just a few minutes walk into town.
The room was comfortable, with all the usual TV, tea making facilities, and ensuite shower room.
The lounge downstairs was very comfortable, with Sky TV, and tea making facilities there as well.
Breakfast was very good, full scottish, and a very good selection of cereals, and also fresh fruit.
The staff and Anne Moffat the owner could not have been more friendly or helpful.
This was a lovely place to stay, we went to the light house at Mull of Galloway, which is a day out in itself as long as the weather is good, which it was on that day.
In less good weather we went to the harbour and watched the waves crashing in. We also managed to see the resident black Guillemot in the harbour itself.
We hope to come back at some point in the future to maybe do some of the 'Southern Upland Way', and the Braefield could not be a better place to start or finish.
The Crown Hotel by the harbour was very pleasant to eat at in the evening, their fish dishes being particularly tasty.
