This was my first experience of a B&B for which I was pleasantly surprised. I booked here at the last minute after stepping off the ferry and deciding I was too tired to drive home (400 miles). I had a single room which was compact but comfortable with a TV and free WIFI which was very handy. The room and other public areas very clean and the family were friendly, the breakfast was very good and also a good size. For £35 including breakfast for a single room it was excellent value for money, I would recommend staying here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lakeview Guesthouse and especially appreciated the extra care and help of the owners. Nothing was too much trouble and they couldn't have been more helpful and nice. The rooms were lovely and clean with an extra touch of welcoming amenities. We enjoyed a lovely full irish breakfast and had a lovely tea at the Custom House Pub just up the road as recommended by the owners. All in all we really enjoyed our stay at the Guest House and would definitely recommend to other travellers and we would definitely stay here again if we return to Stranraer. Also, very close to the ferry terminal and the train station so very handy.

We booked about 10 days before our arrival and asked for a quiet room not facing the street. When we arrived, we were given a room facing the rather noisy street. We queried this and were told they were fully booked and all rooms allocated. We were also given a room with shared bathroom facilities, something that was not apparent from the booking.

We stayed at Lakewiew last summer and have just returned from another visit this weekend. My mum, daughter and myself spent three nights at Lakeview while visiting family in Stranraer. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms spotless. Lovely breakfasts every morning and the owners always go that wee bit further for you. We had a shopping day in Belfast on the Saturday and Alan ran us right down to the ferry terminal at 8.45 am for the 9.30 am sailing. So glad we found this B&B.
