Lovely place to stop when visiting beautiful south west Scotland and the stunning gardens in the area. Rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean and what a wonderful breakfast to start the day! Great value too. Only a few minutes walk to the picturesque harbour of Portpatrick with pubs and restaurants to choose from. Would recommend this to anyone looking for accommodation in the area.

A very comfortable, clean room and the hospitality was second to none! Gareth, the owner, was always cheerful and helpful over breakfast which consisted of a wide selection of hot and cold food, all tasting great and setting us up for the day.

The location of the guest house means it’s a two minute stroll from the centre of Portpatrick. For a small port there is so much to do! There is a variety of coastal and country walks, various restaurants offering good food, golf courses and Dunskey Gardens near-by. There is a bus link to Stranraer should you wish to travel about for the day (good links to Glenluce and Creetown etc from Stranraer).

Overall, a wonderful place and a wonderful holiday augmented by the wonderful service provided by the owners of The Dunskey Guest House.

We only spent one night here, but can't fault the value. The owners (for 8 years), have obviously done, and are doing a lot of work to improve the house, but please renew the tatty towels! Breakfast was very good, location - excellent, just a few minutes walk from the centre of Portpatrick. Comfy bed, and all VERY clean. A bit more tidying around the edges (including the gardens) will make this B&B a top place to stop! On balance, as things stand, still a 2 star B&B, but could be edging towards 3 star soon.

stayed in the dunskey for 3 nights, room was superb, very spacious and clean and nothing was a bother to gareth or his wife, breakfast was super and to top it off the weather was fab, definately go here again
