We have just spent three nights over the new year at this fantastic hotel. The saying "Hidden Gem" simply does not do it justice. The staff are simply excellent. Nothing is too much trouble. David and Geraldine are perhaps the most welcoming and genial hosts you could wish to meet and the standard of food and level of service was simply superb.

Add this to the beautiful little village of Portpatrick and this is a location to savour. Highly recommended.

Much as we don't stay in the hotel it was yet again another great night at the Waterfront! As a group of friends we book and take over an entire Guest House but eat in the Waterfront on New Years Day. We were 8 Glaswegians facing the might of the Durham group - we held our own and had a great party,singing along to some fantastic songs; with the other diners and party from Yorkshire happily joining in. As usual food was excellent with spectacular service. The owners David & Geraldine, plus Manager Anne + Magdalene and waiting staff all ensured everyone was well looked after and joined in the fun at every opportunity. So good we're already booked for next year - year 3 for our group.

Just come back from a 4 night stay at the Waterfront over the New Year period. This is the 10th visit, The rooms are small this is true but they are very clean and comfortable .The quality of food and service at the Hotel is superb 5 star hotel standard. David and Geraldine plus their team are absolutely great will bend over backwards to make your stay as comfortable as possible and nothing is too much trouble.
Food 5 star / service 5 star .

my husband and I plus six friends have just had our tenth new years break in the waterfront hotel. Staff are top class,Anne the manageress is unflappable and nothing is too much trouble for her,the owners David and Geraldine bend over backwards to please and make sure all needs are catered for,the rest of the staff are all as good,we could not thank them enough for making our stay comfortable and good fun too,the food breakfast lunch and dinner were excellent if you want something not on the menu and they have it you get it,really nothing is too much trouble! Rooms are small but beds are comfortable and everything is spotless who needs more! My friends and I will be going again, I have really never been to a hotel anywhere with such friendly helpful staff.
