Stayed one night and enjoyed our stay very much. Room clean, tv a bit small, but food and service could put many other (and bigger) hotels to shame. A lot of attention to detail and staff attentive without being overbearing. Had a delicious meal and choice of food good. Every hotel should be as good as this !

I have stayed in this hotel a few times. It is very good and has never disappointed me.
It is easy to find and a great deal of effort had been made to make it attractive with fine displays of flowers in hanging baskets. But more importantly, I was made to feel very welcome as soon as I stepped into the hotel.
The rates are reasonable, the hotel is scrupulously clean and the rooms are very comfortable. They are also fine for working in with a decent desk and lighting.
In this part of Scotland there are quite a few good places to eat nearby. However, we found the food and service to be so good and of such good value we ate in the hotel each night.
Why is it like this? ... the answer is obvious ... it is largely down to the excellent leadership of the owner, Elizabeth, who must have high expectations of all her staff and who models good customer service. A good example of leading from the front!
What of the future? I suggest that the hotel considers updating the decor of the bedrooms.

i feel the need to rave about the Harviestoun House Hotel as my mum recently got married there, and to say the day was fantastic, is an understatement! Elizabeth and her team are truly amazing and they made the entire day one that we will never ever forget. the service was flawless, the rooms were immculate and our entire experience was amazing. As a family of people who all work in hospitality, we do tend to view places with the greatest scrutiny, and we knew from the first meeting with Elizabeth, that our time at the Harvieston House Hotel was going to be amazing; but even we were blown away! Truly Truly Amazing!!

we found this wee gem on a wet and cold afternoon in april. we had been looking for a wedding venue for ourselves. this was the first one we looked at and we were hooked by its charm. Elizabeth from start to finish of the planning of our wedding was brilliant.

having been in hospitality for a lot of years i probably am a nightmare as a guest, but the service, the food,the rooms, the staff the whole package was FAB. magical, and a day we will always remember for being so spiecial. stuie and i had a brilliant day. we were lucky.
