“First-rate B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

This is B&B at its very best, particularly in view of the paucity of other places to stay in the area whilst walking the West Highland Way. It really felt like home from home - a really friendly welcome, tea and cake on arrival after a long day's walk, immacuate spacious room and facilities and an excellent breakfast. Ellen & Andy were superb hosts and extremely helpful.

“Excellent guest house on the West Highlands Way.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

Glengarry is among the best b&bs we have have experienced anywhere (including France, Switzerland, and Italy). The hosts, Ellen and Andy, are wonderful. They anticipate needs instead of simply responding to questions, and they deal with a variety of guests ranging from car trippers like ourselves to people hiking many days along the WHW. They are also competent and professional.

Our room was a family room looking over the back yard and a beautiful hillside. It was clean, light, and airy with 3 comfortable beds. Breakfasts were excellent and included eggs from their own chickens.

We used Glengarry as a base to explore the highlands, and we were very glad we stayed here four nights. Not fancy (thank goodness) but a very comfortable home away from home.

“Gourmet Dinner in Tyndrum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

We stopped for one night at Glengarry House on our way from Edinburgh to the Isle of Skye. Our room was spacious and immaculate. Ellen was very welcoming, even helping take bags up the stairs. The wifi service was spotty but everything else was great, especially for guests just passing through. Dinner was absolutely a treat. Ellen offered a choice of three menu items and the two we chose were exceptional. There was also a choice of desserts. I will never forget my first stickey toffee pudding at Glengarry. I would even say this was the best dinner we had during our whole 3 weeks in Britain.

“A night of comfort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

Staying only one night at this B & B while walking the West Highland Way, my friend and I shared a room. We received a warm welcome into the lovingly furnished house after our long days walk. Our host immediately offered us tea and cake which was a thoughful touch as we were tired from the walk. We felt so comfortable and at peace in the house we opted to stay and have dinner which was as i expected, homely, well prepared and presented fare and finished off with a fabulous desert. All this seemed to come effortlessly to our hosts who also fitted in with our departure plans by agreeing to an early breakfast.
Why I loved this B & B so much was all the details that gelled into a very nice stay. From taking our pre-delivered baggage up to our room before we arrived, (and taking it down again next morning) to the extras in the bathroom that would put a five star hotel to shame, to the extra friendly service and information, to the gift of flapjacks for the next day's walk. I just simply loved it,
If your going to rough it walking the West Highland Way this little piece of luxury is well worth it,
