Stopped off at Ben More Lodge for a drink, having stayed there a few years ago. The grafitti that had previously been on only one wall is now all over the bar and the room with the pool table, with the content of some of the grafitti being quite questionable. The whole bar was dark and grim, and the toilets were dusty with a large amount of cobwebs present - if you suffer from Arachnophobia this place isn't for you.

I know that any hotel designed for walkers is going to have to be 'robust', but please waft a duster around a bit!!

Having said that, the lady behind the bar was very pleasant and the drinks were quite cheep.

We have eaten here in the past and thought it would be good for an overnight stay when passing through on the way to Outer Hebrides from the midlands. WRONG. Although the staff were very helpful and friendly the accommodation was not good. Room was freezing cold, (heating not put on till we arrived), quite dusty and the bed felt damp.

When staying at Inverrardran House for the first night and the last of our hoilday we were advised to go to the Ben More Lodge for a meal best advice ever. we then went on to Gairloch to enjoy the rest of our holiday on our return we went back to the Ben More Lodge for our meals and drinks the staff could not be more helpfull and friendly. we were entertained with music and this helped to make our holiday more special. I stayed here with my daughter and my brothers family on a recent visit to the Scottish highlands. The lodge is just outside Crianlarich and is in a beautiful rural setting. The rooms are a series of connectes small cottages. There is interior wood walls, and comfortable beds. Some have two bedrooms,some with bunks. Perfect for a small family. The accomodations were very nice, but I wouldn't say large. The lodge has a small pub where you check in. There's a pool table, free wifi, and even a room with various board games and books. Breakfast is a sit down affair and is included and served after you order. Typical Engilsh bfast of eggs, toast, bacon or sausage etc. Don't be late though. We tried to sleep till just before the closing time of 10am, and the hostess/owner made it clear she was none too happy. She was a bit surly and blustered about as if being put out. On the other hand, the staff had no trouble getting us an extra mattress and bedsheets in one room so my daughter could stay in the same room with her cousins. But in the evening we were sitting in the pud with a small local crowd who were freindly enough and there was even some live (if not great) music. Overall, the stay was enjoyable in a beautiful location
