Nice owners and good breakfast. Very dated furnishings (and not in an antique way for the most part). 1980's style bedroom, which was small. Highly unsuitable for anyone disabled as there are steep, narrow stairs to the bedrooms and no lift. Having visited, surprised by the good reviews on Trip Advisor and star ratings, which just goes to show - each to their own.

There are plenty of hotels and guest houses to chose from in Rothesay but few would match this one. It was a real find. The welcome was warm and friendly and everything was done to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel is right on the front and convenient for the centre of town. Food was excellent. Hope to return some day.

Stayed at the hotel for 1 night to celebrate my cousins birthday.
Found Graham to be a very good host and could not do enough to ensure we had a good time.
We chose to eat in the hotel restaurant which was a great idea, good food and great service.

Booked this hotel at the last moment due to a change in plans.Purpose of our visit to Bute was to do some walking.Location of hotel superb and the room was clean and tidy.
The owners were very kind and attentive. Had dinner at the Hotel which was a treat and breakfast was just as good .Had agreat day on Bute with great weather beautiful scenery and a very nice hotel . Unfortunately could only stay one night but hope to return to the lovely island of Bute and the Cannon House Hotel in the near future.
