My wife and myself and two other friends sailed here from further up the River Clyde on two yachts and went ashore intending to anchor for the night , have a couple of drinks and a meal in the hotel, sleep on board the boats and return home the next day. We were served with drinks and given menus but when I went to the bar to order food for the four of us at 1950 I was informed that we were too late as last orders for food was at 1945 !. When I protested my disbelief, it was met with a shrug of the shoulders from what I believe was the proprietress. It was hard to understand this attitude in today's business climate , especially as the kitchen was still in operation preparing food for people at the next table, but who had been fortunate enough to place their order before the 1945 deadline. Establishments like this do not deserve to stay in business and as far as I am concerned, the sooner they fold up, the better.
