We spent two nights at the Thistle House Guest House as part of a trip around the west of Scotland. Our stay here will always be memorable as we arrived having got engaged in the afternoon, and it did not disappoint as a first romantic spot as fiance and fiancee. The house itself is stunning from the outside and equally impressive from the inside, especially the beautiful lounge which unfortunately we never had the opportunity to use. Our room ("MacNaughton") was very well appointed and cosy, and benefitted from a wonderful view across the loch to Inverary, which was one of the main reasons for choosing this establishment. If we had to complain about anything, it would be that the bathroom was on the small side but it was clean and modern, perfectly fine for us. We had a choice of rooms when we got there, but the view swung it for us with this room. Jennifer was a very warm host, and provided a lovely breakfast, I never got to ask her where she got her wonderful yoghurt from! Although just across the loch from Inverary, it is a fair journey away round the loch, but luckily there is a pub/restaurant just down the road which we went to both evenings and made friends with the lovely resident doggy Hector! We would love to stay at Thistle House again if ever we are in the area (likely as we love Scotland so much and visit every year), the room-rate is at the top end of what we would consider for staying at a B&B but we felt it was worth it for a lovely experience to round off a memorable holiday north of the border.
