I've been meaning to write this review for ages and really wanted to as this guest house was really special. We arrived here to stay literally 30 mins after my boyfriend proposed and it was the perfect choice to celebrate. We were greeted by the lovely onwers with fresh coffee and biscuits and sat outside to enjoy the stunning view over Loch Fynne and Inveraray Castle on the opposite side of the Loch. We had a room at the front of the house overlooking the Loch and the room itself was excellent - modern, beautifully decorated and clean. The Guest house is also opposite the original Loch Fyne Restaurant which I would also thoroughly recommend.

The guest house also has a lovely guest lounge area to sit and relax in the evening. I also have to mention the breakfast which was amazing and I have to say the best breakfast we ate in the 2 weeks we spent travelling around Scotland.

I think regardless that I was on a high from the proposal this place in excellent and I would thoroughly reccommend. Hopefully we will be returning next year on our wedding anniversay.

im just back from a wonderful weekend at the Thistle with my girlfriend. We stayed in the Campbell Suite on the top floor which had a great view accross the loch. The room was very tastefully decorated with a lovely wooden carved 4 poster bed. Everything was immaculatley clean and tidy. Jennifer was the hostess with the mostess and was full of great advice about where to go in the area and beyond. We will be reccommending the thistle to anyone and everyone and will hopefully return again in the future. Thanks for making our weekend that extra bit special.

We were recommended to this Guest House................what a lucky break, if you are within 100 miles of St Catherines and dont stay at the Thistle then your journey is not complete. The hosts are fantastic, plenty of advice re local area, we had a front room overlooking the loch, the room was beautifully decorated there was tea and coffee etc, and downstairs there was a 'guests' sitting room to relax in. Breakfast was faultless and whether you take the continental or full cooked option you have a treat in store. Would recommend anyone to stay here but I am worried now that the next time we go North it will be fully booked !!!

We throughly enjoyed our stay, the location, the house , food and the hosts all first class.
