Stayed here one night end of January so not a lot of choice of places open. There was one other guest (on business). The smell of old greasy food was almost overpowering on entering the hotel. Our room overlooking the harbour was large with a double and one single bed but rather a lot of furniture. The decor was very 80s and could do with updating. Large comfortable bed and clean sheets. The water was hot. However, the noise from the windows buzzing and humming with the easterly wind all night long and a cold draught (due to some dodgy window installation i think) was very annoying and rather spooky. The radiators in the hotel were all off but we had a small electric heather in our room so we managed to get the temperature up above zero! The en suite had been updated I think but very dark wall - black/brown and a shower curtain (never good). We laughed about it but would not be everybody's cup of tea. Our evening meal was from the freezer but breakfast ok but very cold dining room at 8am before the electric heaters got going. Shame as the hotel has a lovely position and this is a lovely area to explore. Rather pricey. We stayed in cheaper places during our week's holiday with far better facilities, good fresh food and better value for money.
