“Upstairs & downstairs don't match !!”

Reception area and restaurant are really nice but upstairs is a different story. Small, cold, badly furnished, tatty, miniscule bathroom complete with a good helping of black mould. To top it all off, the grotty pub (complete with the wolrds most miserable barman) which is attached downstairs played loud music until gone midnight, not good if like me, you had to be up for work in the morning.
Best feature was the lady on reception, couldn't do enough for me and was way too good for that place. A re-furb (with a bolldozer) would help .....

Room Tip: Cheap but you'll regret it ....

“Filthy smelly stomach renching mouldy tiny rooms”

Front of house ie restaraunt was very good, service was good, the hotel rooms were disgusting, mould on bathroom ceiling, carpets filthy and shower filthy, rooms tiny, me and my friends complained and a whole£12 was taken off price, my advice is there is a travel lodge 500 yards away it is clesn reasonable priced and has a good restaraunt.

“Very poor hotel. The only 3stars I saw was in the sky in the car park, not even 1star.”

Had worked in Bathgate for the previous 2 weeks and had stayed in the Premier Inn which was fab but unfortunately they had no rooms left on these required dates.

Arrived at hotel after a 4.5 hour car journey with a collegue and were given rooms 20 & 17. First we had to walk through the restaurant to reach these, once in my room (17) the smell of damp hit you straight away. After checking I found that the bathroom ceiling was covered mildew. I then checked with my collegue and found that his room was the same but with the added bonis of cigarette smoke in a non smoking room.

At reception I asked for two alternative rooms and was told that the hotel was fully booked and as we were the last to arrive they were the only rooms available, after asking to speak to the manager I was told that she was off site and unavailable for a couple of hours at which point I lost my temper and strangely enough she arrived within ten minutes.

No other hotel rooms were available within the area so we had to GRIM AND BEAR IT. The manager promised that she would give us two new rooms the following night which she did but these did not fair any better but without the smell.

Over all the hotel rooms were in very poor condition and not worth the money requested. Would go as far to say the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

“Do not visit this hotel it is awful”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

This hotel was awful... Room smelled of damp. Furnishings poor, no stool for dressing table. Shower so small you could barely turn around. Black mould in bottom of shower and a gallon of bleach would not have gone amiss. Entire shower enclosure had not been cleaned in a long time. Cistern on toilet did not fit properly, clearly had been broken and replacement did not fit. . Entire room was dirty and everything needed a thorough clean. Walls paper thin, we could hear guests in adjoining room all night..very noisy stay. This was on a Tuesday night, dread to think how bad it would be on a weekend night. Could not think of anything but insanity which would ever persuade us to return to this hotel. Do yourself a favour .. avoid this grubby dive..go somewhere nice instead.. should be easy as almost anywhere would be better than this..

“Good Location for Central Scotland - Pit stop”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

Stayed at the Kaim Park for one night in August whilst attending a function. The entrance to the Hotel from the main road is a bit tight but once into the car park plenty of room. Main entrance was nice enough and reception quick and efficient. The location of our room meant that we had to walk through the dining room to get there with our luggage. Not ideal for us or the diners but little can be done with the lay out i suppose. Nice enough lay-out. We had room 19 double room with a desk, telly, wardrobe, trouser press all the usual. A little short on space but we managed. The bathroom was also small. There was black mould in the silicone of the shower tray from age and a few crack tiles. For £70 per night i would of expected better. The Function suite was good with a bar located inside. Typical bar prices as would be expected. Only draw back/benefit is the function suite is totally seperate from the hotel so if you need to nip to your room and it's raining (which it does a lot of in Scotland) they you'll get wet.

Breakfast was great made to order and a large variety. Staff were always pleasant and friendly. Would consider staying again if needed. Close links to Edinburgh/Glasgow.

Room Tip: If you don't want to wander through the dining room after check in or during check out as for a...
