“Friendly staff, good clean rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This was my first stay at a Premier Inn, as this was closest to my business meeting the next morning. I booked their meal deal which, at £22 for 3-course dinner and unlimited premier breakfast is fantastic value for money.
The hotel staff is fantastic. Very polite and friendly. The check-in procedure was flawless. I required an iron and a board, which reception promptly gave me. The iron was very good quality and in good condition. This may sound silly, but I've been in hotels (higher rated), where their trouser press or iron wasn't capable of even putting a stamp on a letter, let alone iron any clothes!
The restaurant is good, food was nice, and they have a nice pub, providing a good venue to unwind at the end of the day, or conduct a small business meeting.

However, my criticism has to be the restaurant service. It took me 2 hours to have dinner (on my own), and a whole hour from the time I finished my starter until the mains was served. The staff were always polite and apologetic, and to be honest, they didn't seem overly stressed or busy with work, leading me to think this is more of a kitchen organisational issue than the serving staff.
I am hoping this was an one off, even though the restaurant was busy, but not packed.

Other than my dinner experience, it was a fantastic stay, and the bed, linen, and pillows was really good, providing for a restful night. If I can be picky, I'd wish the shower wasn't a fixed position job, as that leads to inevitably getting a few seconds of cold water when switching from the tap to the shower. But when going, was a good, invigorating flow.

“Very comfortable, clean and friendly.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012 via mobile

We had just a one night stay which included a meal deal for dinner and breakfast. Room was spotless and very comfortable - everything worked! The bathroom was also spotless. We were able to park right outside the entrance, despite it being busy. The food was of excellent quality and there was vegetarian choice as well. The staff were all very friendly, even when passing them in the corridor. Will use this PI again.

This hotel is very conveniently situated close to the M8 but not so close that there is any traffic noise. Parking is good, the hotel itself and the restaurant are much like most other Premier Inns in style and amenities, the staff are very friendly, the service was good, the dinner was good value, the breakfast was excellent, overall is was a very good value for money stay.

“Family friendly and great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

This was our first time staying in a hotel with our 2 toddlers so we were a bit worried but there was no need to be. From the moment we arrived at reception we were greeted with a smile and made to feel very welcome. We loved the breakfast buffet choice, there was everything you could want. Also left my little girls book and staff posted it back to us, which made for one very happy little girl.

“Fantastic Customer Service from an Excellent Receptionist @ A Great Hotel.”

I recently stayed at this hotel and I must say I encountered the most pleasant and courteous receptionist I have ever come across at any premier inn I've ever stayed at.

From the minute we arrived we received warm, friendly smiles from every member of staff, and a friendly greeting. Upon entering the reception we were greeted with a homely yet professional greeting which after our considerable journey we was more than pleased to receive.

Our Check in was swift but informative I was informed of the companies 'Good Night Guarantee' which despite my regular stays at Premier Inn's across the country for work I do not recall been informed of its fundamental purpose before.

As an elder guest I found that the young lady on reception’s professional approach to guest communication was impeccable. I say this because the use of what now seems out of date terms of 'Sir / Madam' when communicating with ourselves after initially confirming our Identity. I found this very professional as being from the 'elder' generation I may be old fashioned but believe that this is the truly correct way to address a persons of our generation when you are not known to each other in a non professional capacity. I also passed this comment on to the second receptionist Rita who was also on that same evening. Although the Young Lady who served myself and my wife was not wearing a name badge, when asked who she was so I may submit my comments officially, identified herself as Helen - Receptionist for a Brand NEW Premier Inn Opening at Edinburgh Park whom was on training at Deer Park for the evening.

Our room was all we could ask for Warm, Comfortable and without any unwanted noise even though our room was the first room in the main corridor.

The room was very clean and tidy, and the beds are incredibly comfy.

Breakfast was excellent, Hot cooked food as well as great choices of cereal, breads and fruit etc. We got the £29/night deal. Unbeatable value.

All staff were exceptionally helpful and went that extra mile for us. This stay gave us a great start to our holiday. Well done Deer Park Premier Inn and an Extra Special Thank You to Helen who really made our day on arrival, by reminding us that although times have change there are still people out there whom are still courteous and respectful to there elders.

All in all a brilliant value for money hotel, with excellent links for Edinburgh/Glasgow, either by road (it's right on the M8), or by train from nearby Uphall station (only £5 per adult into Edinburgh) with free parking. We will definitely return and may even try out the NEW Premier Inn that Helen said she was to be working at once it has opened.
