“A very good travelodge.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Stayed over on a recent business trip, ( 1/2/12 ) and was suprised at the size of the room which was quite spacious.
Godd facilities and location for a very cheap rate.
If the restaurant below was not there it would be a short drive for any kind of meal, but the choices nearby are plentiful.
However, the restaurant below is very good, with a nice atmosphere and good food which is not overly priced.
Overall a warm and comfortable stopover for £40, and would have no problem in staying there again.

Room Tip: Third floor was fine for me, room 303, but because of the location, you should get a good sleep in a...

“Great value & location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

I have stayed in this hotel several times, it is in an excellent location for shopping and is excellent value for money. At our most recent stay I contacted the hotel to ensure there would be room for my travel cot, they advised I wouldn't need to bring my own travel cot as they would supply one for us, which they did. The rooms are very spacious and beds are extremely comfortable, I will definately be returning to this hotel and regularly recommend to friends and family. Excellent value for money.

Room Tip: I have always had rooms overlooking the car park and these are excellent rooms

“dirty”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

on arrival the reception was nice & clean. receptionist greeted us with a warm welcome. we where given our keys and went to our room on the 3rd floor. on departing the lift i instantly new it was a failure. the edges of the carpet where white with dust. went into the room and that was no better. the window was covered in dirty sticky hand prints. The edges of the carpet was covered in fluff and dust. The sheets where ripped. We then changed rooms. We where placed on the second floor. This room was no better. I went and got a Hoover from the receptionist and did the job myself. The tv screen had been wiped with a dirty cloth at some point. As you can imagine you could not see properly so i cleaned that. The walls had splashes up them.To be honest i could go on and on.
My wife and i would have left and gone elsewhere but we had driven for 5 hrs and had to be changed and out in an hr.
my wife cleaned the room on our return,

“Its a Travelodge, no more no less”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

Stayed here on a recent business trip to Livingston.

I knew what to expect as i've stayed in Travelodges many times before. This one is a fairly poor example of the chain but certainly not the worst one i've seen.

The single member of staff I encountered was incredibly overworked but was doing her best to deliver some level of customer service.

I was sharing the room with a colleague and as normal in Travelodges there was just a double bed and a sofa bed, she delivered the bedding for the sofa bed quickly after we got to the room and was helpful in obtaining an extra pillow (Travelodge pillows are quite simply the thinnest things i've ever seen, the could double as wafers)

I do wonder what some people expect when they book a Travelodge, its a basic no frills hotel. If they are booked in advance they are reasonable enough value, its only when you book them short term that they become expensive for what they are.

The noise from the restaurant next door is an issue, i'd suggest going and sampling the food though as its excellent.

Overall, basic typical Travelodge.

If you are looking for a cheap bed for the night then its fine (if booked far enough in advance)
If you wanted a quality hotel experience then i'd suggest looking elsewhere.

“Christmas at Travelodge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

We stayed at Travelodge Livingston over Christmas and were very satisfied with all aspects. The room was a bargain at £19 for a family room and it was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Close to the excellent shopping outlet, Sainsburys and in a good spot. Only issue really was lack of parking on arrival due to Tony Macaroni restaurant below the hotel being busy
