“An excellent Autumn break”

We arrived a little early however we were warmly greeted and given all the information we needed to know. The room was very clean and well presented with some complimentary wine on offer. The shower was a nice surprise as we have found water pressure to be an issue in the Hebrides. Dinner, although a set menu was superb with fastidious service. The breakfasts were absolutely magnificent with all hot food cooked to order and a great range on offer. The host was very genuine and friendly and the we felt thoroughly relaxed throughout our stay.

“A lovely meal to finish off our holiday!”

Having seen this hotel featured on a TV programme about the Hebrides in January this year, I made a point of finding out more so we could book a meal during our holiday in September on Harris. We hoped to be able to have Lobster but due to bad weather, this did not happen - we were more than happy with the meal we had, Katie consulted with me in advance regarding our individual requirements and we enjoyed lovely seafood and beef, well cooked and presented in a really lovely dining room. The atmosphere was relaxed and informal and our fellow diners - some staying in the hotel and others like us, just there for dinner, were warm and friendly. It was a very nice way to end a week's self-catering holiday and I would recommend it and also go back myself when I am next on Harris.

we visited ardhasaig in july/aug this year and stayed in the barn. everything about our stay was fantastic. katie made us feel so welcome, the food, the location, the exclusivity of it is unique. although we didnt have far to travel we felt we had left all the stresses and strains behind us. anyone who complains about paying to much for the food needs to be realistic. this is not tesco bought produce it is the best the hebrides has to offer.. we'll be back. keep up the good work Katie

“One of the worst”

We never received any response to our emails and eventually booked this by phone - even that needed a couple of attempts! The dinner is definitely overpriced - 4 courses with no choice. We were charge £48 a head for cauliflower soup, very garlicy linguine, roast lamb, and poached pear with toffee sauce. The pudding was brilliant but the others were not to our liking
We then had coffee and were charged an additional £9 for 2 expressos! Breakfast was better with homemade oatcakes. The room was ok but has no television. After dinner the room was cold with no way of turning on any heating and there was no hot water. The view from the window was lovely! The owner Katie was not interested in our feedback. We would not recommend this pretentious place to anyone. It is called a Restaurant with Rooms but in fact it is a B&B which serves a very expensive evening meal with no choice. .

“Beautiful location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

Location: We found this B & B a little hard to find; the owners' website gives no directions. However, it has stunning views and is only a few minutes drive out of Tarbert.
Room: Beautifully furnished, big bed, excellent en-suite.
Meals: Breakfast was first class. We did not have dinner because we considered it hugely over-priced.
Service: No-one was present on arrival, which was annoying since we were very tired after a long journey. However we tried telephoning and eventually the lady appeared from an adjoining house. There was no apology for the inconvenience.
Value for money: This place is not cheap, charging hotel prices for B & B facilities. However, the accommodation was very comfortable.
