It's not often that a hotel or B&B ticks all the boxes but that's what you get with Cuil Lodge. Everything about it allowed you to relax and enjoy your holiday. The couple who run the B&B were friendly but inobtrusive. The views were unrivalled over the sea and the rooms were spacious, so very clean (and believe me, I looked!), fresh and comfortable. Althought there was a TV in the room, we did enjoy playing scrabble, dominoes and a host of family games from the B&Bs collection. I cannot explain how wonderful the breakfast was and I'm not talking 'just' a Scottish fry-up. I'm talking real china tea-cups and individual menu and the fayre was an amazing spread of traditional jams but also fruit and yoghurt. I tasted stewed rhubarb for the first time in years and had that with a number of different fruits as well as poached eggs, abundant toast and various juices. Gah, it was a breakfast fot for royalty. I didn't really want to leave. And neither will you. Guaranteed. Well done Cuil Lodge, you are the place to beat on Skye.
