A lovely, modern and comfortable base from which to explore the north east of Skye. Great views out to the bay from the rooms. Friendly hosts and a delicious breakfast. We booked over the phone after a last minute change of plan and it exceeded our hopes. Exceptional value for money.

We ate at the Uig Hotel (one of the two restaurants in Uig!) The food was better than I expected from my initial impressions... Food generally on Skye is rather expensive. Would recommend trying some of the local ales.

The Skye Museum of Island Life was really interesting and worth a visit to learn more about the local history. Our walk to the Quirrang from the nearby car park was fantastic.

“Great Guest House”

We found Cuil Lodge a most pleasant and comfortable guest house. We stayed for three nights in June 2007 in an upstairs double room with a wonderful view over the bay and harbour. All three rooms overlook the bay. The host were most obliging and helpful and the breakfasts really delicious with a good choice of what to eat. The room was tastefully furnished, very clean and had tea-making facilities. It is also most convenient for the ferry to North Uist and Harris.

Wouldn't hesitate about returning to Cuil Lodge if in the area again.
