“Peaceful and very comfortable...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2011

This Guest House is a couple of miles before Dunvegan and in a lovely, off the road, peaceful setting. Originally a Post office (I think) it has been sympathetically modernised to the highest standard. Comfortable bed, crisp linen, quality furnishings, very good breakfast and very attentive owners. No television but this added to the ambience.

Amazed this is the first enry in trip advisor because it's such a nice Guest House and we've already booked for 2012.

Make sure you have somewhere booked to eat in the evenings, especially if you are arriving late.

“One of the best places we stayed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

One of the nicest places we stayed in the Scottish islands. Beautifully appointed, large rooms with good sized showers and lots of thoughtful touches. We stayed in 2 rooms during our stay as we booked quite late. Lovely breakfast room with good food and would certainly recommend taking advantage of the packed lunches for when you are out and about. Nice lounge area too, with use of laptop with internet connection or wi-fi.

“Lovely comfortable B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at Roskhill House. Our room, although up a very narrow little staircase, as most of the rooms are, was very comfortable, quiet and roomy. The bathroom and shower were very spacious as well with all the usual amenities. The room had a refrigerator, plenty of outlets for recharging. Internet was only available in the lounge area but it was very comfortable with good chairs and sofas. Breakfast was very good with the usual Scottish breakfast choices. Overall a very comfortable easy place for an overnight or 2.

Room Tip: There are rooms on the lower level, which were booked. But the host did help with our luggage

“Good service”

A very clean, well run guest house. Alan and Julie worked hard to please and ensured we had a comfortable two night stay.

“What a lovely place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2011

What a lovely place to stay. Roskhill House has been carefully furnished and maintained by the owners and is a comfortable place with lots of character being an old crofter’s house. The breakfast menu is pretty extensive and although you need to order what you want the night before it’s worth it to get your food perfectly prepared the following morning. The local iron pig sausage and Stornoway black pudding were very tasty and we ate the most yellow eggs we have seen since we kept our own chickens. Breakfast is served any time between 8 and 9:30 and I wish other B&B owners were as flexible about the timing.

There is a laptop for general use in the lounge and a wide selection of maps and local guide books which you are encouraged to borrow when you go out exploring. We would definitely recommend this to good friends confident in the knowledge they would enjoy their stay.
