On a recent visit to Portree we found this gem of a bar down at the harbour. Its a cosy wee place with a good mix of tourists and locals in the summer and still busy out of season. Everyone was very friendly and chatty and is by far my favourite pub in Portree as it has more atmosphere and is also in a great location!

What a great place to land for a couple of days, exploring Isle of Skye. A place for locals. Which we loved. Friendly, kind, patient and helpful people all around. Nice restaurant downstairs; small pub to join up with local people; clean, comfortable rooms with our own bathroom. Great location to walk around town. Visit the Skye Music Shop & Over the Rainbow, too. Our room was quiet. No pub or restaurant noise. This place was so nice to find.

Stayed in this dump after the hotel next door cancelled on us. The website looked good and I was happy to go along with the spirit of the trip. When I arrived at the hotel- if u can call it that- I walked into the bar and the landlord couldn't even be bothered to say hello!! A customer showed us to the room .the place smelt of chip fat and the room was so small. The toilet had washing facilities. The room cost £70 for two of us. I wanted to say something to the landlord but was so intimidated by going back o the bar it wasn't worthy it! Don't stay at this hotel and don't bother with the town as from October there are no places to eat! Had to have a Chinese takeaway!!! don't ruin your vacation !!!!

Compared to George H, we were lucky, and our reservation made 5 months previously was honoured. We had 3 great nights in this hotel - small rooms and lugging a suitcase up the stairs to the 2nd floor wasn't easy, but what a great view when we got there. We loved being down on the pier and amongst the action. We went elsewhere for dinners, but breakfast was fine. My husband and I loved the comfortable, intimate bar and would have a dram or two before heading upstairs to bed. We met some very interesting locals this way. We very much enjoyed our time on Skye and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
