Just stayed one night at the Isles Inn in September 2011 as a stop off. An old fashioned drinkers bar with a roaring fire meets a surprisingly good restaurant (have the sea food, it's so fresh and beautifully prepared). The rooms are a little dated and no frills but our en suite room was perfectly adequate and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and it was a lovely place to come in to on a wet and chilly September night. I would definitely use it again.

Brilliant. We found ourselves on Skye, rather than Oban, due to cancelled ferries from the Outer Isles. It really was a dark and stormy night, we didn't want to travel further and we hadn't been able to book anything ahead but the Isles Inn was the perfect haven. Excellent value, no frills, good pub food and proper honest accommodation right in the heart of Portree. Staff cheerful, laid-back and helpful. Atmosphere warm and welcoming. Dog and sprog friendly. Streets ahead of the local b&bs and half the price. Highly recommended.

Spent a few days in Portree recently and although I did not stay in The isles Inn I called in twice, once for Dinner and one for a drink.
Restaurant is good, high standard of food at a decent price and good efficient service. Bar is good as well, friendly staff and locals. A well run inn.
I did talk to a few residents and they seemed perfectly happy.

I stayed in room 6 which is the only room with a seperate toilet and shower. It was not anyrthing fantastic but for the price I paid I don't think I can complain. The room is very basic and small but it was clean and the bed was comfortable and although I was above the bar I wasn't kept awake because of it. The shower was amazing and I didn't smell any cigarette smoke or fried food as in the previous review. I believe in getting what you pay for, it was very cheap being the winter season and well worth it for the price. The staff were friendly and it is right in the heart of Portree. I would stay here again. If you are looking for something very basic but clean then I can recommend this hotel, if you're looking for luxury and expecting alot more than what you are willing to pay for then be prepared to spend more cash elsewhere.
