i was recomended by friend to stay here on a visit to skye big mistake. to enter you have to go up three narrow stairs to get to reception which aint easy with suitcases or if your lucky enough to find the rear entrance which there's no signs for an not a nice entrance at all. rooms are clean but very shabby looking carpets worn an needs decorating badly. noisey pub down stairs which will keep you up if your there at the weekend. I did point out to the staff i wasnt happy but they didnt care.

We stayed here overnight as part of our trip with Norwegian friends. We had a detailed location map, but as we were in a mini-bus it was difficult to find. The sign over the entrance, on a main road through the town, was not adequately visible and led up 4 flights of stairs to reception. There I found out that there was another entrance at the rear of the hotel, at the same level as reception. Our room on the top floor was dark but adequate, and the beds a bit hard. The food at breakfast was good. Decidedly average.

I cannot reccomend this fantstic hotel enough, the staff are warm and friendly and the food is A1.

You will not be dissapointed, definitely set your compass in this direction !!

This is basic, good value (for Portree) accomodation, the rooms are very clean (but dated) and the staff very friendly, helpful and informative. Top marks for service. The shower is great, the only criticism I would have is the bed wasn't that comfortable (a bit springy but I still slept ok). Breakfast was great. I would stay here again based on the experience I have had.
