We had a great time her. The Hostel is central and the staff are very helpfull - cant complain.

This hostel is great and is centrally located in Portree - right next to the bus station. The staff were very nice and helpful. There is a very large clean kitchen. This hostel had its own charm - each room was colourful decor, which was pretty neat.

This hostel has everything a budget traveller looks for. The place is nicely decorated, it's vibrant colours make it friendly and welcoming. The well equipped kitchen, the rooms and bathrooms were all spotlessly clean when we stayed there. We slept in a 6 bed dorm and could fit in comfortably with all our bags.
It's in the centre of Portree (which is a very good base for exploring Skye) but has a lot of free parking spaces. Unloading your vehicle before parking can be more comfortable though, as the parking lot is a few stairs down behind the building.
I think even the most finicky backpackers would be satisfied with this place.

Recently stayed in this hostel for one night on a trip to Skye and the Western Isles. The location is superb, right in the heart of Portree, the capital of Skye. Ideal for bus connections to, from and around the island. Not only a stones throw away from the bus stance, but all the local shops, pubs, restaurants, take-aways, cafes...and a supermarket also.

The view from the kitchen was amazing...eating my breakfast the next day overlooking the bay and the Cuillin mountain range in the very near distance. Breakfast was great, for a very small charge, as I would expect from a hostel.

I slept in one of the main dorms, this was very clean and tidy, and the bed was comfy. An excellent night's sleep I had. The shower was great, and toilets clean. The reception is very cozy, where I sat for some time in the evening, reading my newspaper, while some watched a DVD.

And the staff were fantastic. The man at reception (with the beard!) in the evening and morning, just brilliant, and an asset to the place and the Isle of Skye for his hospitality, kind greeting, local information and friendly smile.

I have stayed in many hostels in Scotland and Europe, this being very good, and one I would sleep in again if on Skye.
