“Very comfortable and welcoming”

One of the few hotels open in the Scottish winter season on Skye, but we had a very comfortable stay. The hotel nearly got a five star review, the only thing stopping it from reaching perfection was slightly haphazard service, but I must stress this was a very minor fault, service was very good, but not quite perfect e.g. reception not always staffed, receptionist friendly but not knowledgeable. Can't fault the bar staff though, and the standard of room was excellent.

We had a wonderful handicap accessable room with an extra bed for granddaughter. Food was superior and staff very accomidatiing of all requests. They even brought out the face cloths for the American tourist, something almost never found in Europe.

I was looking for a nice hotel on Skye to take my girlfriend for a surprise weekend away. How glad I was to go with this place! We booked a Cuillin range room- the view was simply incredible, right out over the harbour with the mountains in the background. The decor is very modern and stylish throughout the hotel, with the log fire drawing room being a notable place to sit down with a glass of wine after a day out on the island.

We spent a fair amount of time around Portree and it's very clear that this is the best hotel in the area, in quality and price terms - it is more expensive than many of the others, but you most certainly get what you pay for.

Some nice touches- bottle of whisky in room, nice bowl of fruit, a very generous toiletry hamper.. And I won't spoil the rest! On top of all of this, the service is simply excellent.

We had a warm welcome and a lovely room with a beautiful view of the Cuillins. We stayed on a reduced rate as we went in November.our evening meal was nice and there is a grand choice of whiskey for those who like it. We would definitely stay again
