We booked the Auch-an-Doune based on Trip Advisor reviews. We were very satisfied. The room and ensuite was very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were very good with excellent Scottish hospitality. There is a lovely yard and garden and if the evening weather is co-operative there is a lovely bench to sit and enjoy the air. It is quite close to town - just a ten minute walk. Joanne and Don made us feel very welcome and were very helpful.

Stayed at Auch-an Doune in August for one night. It was raining when we arrived and Joanne, the Owner, came out to meet us in the drive with an umbrella and the top class friendly and thoughtful service continued from then on. The room was spot on, as was the comprehensive choice of breakfast. Joanne made a point of learing everyones first names and was genuinely interested it where we had been and our future plans for our trip.

Location- a short stroll into Portree town- no more than 5 mins....Room- had everything that was required but highlights were lovely toiletries including 'Skye' soap- dining/breakfast room has particularly lovely view of Portree harbour- some could be put off by the intimacy of dining at the same table as 2 other paying guests- but each to their own...Host(s)- kind, attentive, humorous and thoughtful- Food- great- especially being introduced to Scottish 'Fruit' pudding as opposed to the more traditional 'Black'- which shows a real local touch (and was very tasty!).

Joanne’s' restaurant recommendation was very welcome- despite the small size of Portree there are a lot of places catering for the tourists- we were recommended 'The Cafe' on the High Street which despite its name- offers evening meals and the host was a particular highlight! Well worth the 10 min queue!

Me and my girlfriend Luise been to this beautiful Bed & Breakfast by accident because we didn't have a room booked before we took our Scotland trip. There's was vacancies available so we thought we'd give it a try. The house itself is amazing - it smells lovely inside here and the hosts, Joanne and Donnie, are probably one of the nicest people I've met in my life. The way Joanne gives you a greeting in the morning when you arrive for breakfast is adorable. Me & my girlfriend still have that in mind everytime we think about our trip.

The rooms are nearly luxorious with an amazing bed and the bathroom is one kind of it's own. The shower was stunning!

The advices Joanne provides you with are exceptional. You'll always get an insider view, not the kind of typical tourist information. You can have maps as well if you like to.

Breakfast was stunning as well. That's a full scottish breakfast right here with tattie scones and haggis, if it suits you. As well as the usual baked beans, sausages, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms. Amazing!

To be honest I did love everything about this place and if you read this, Joanne, thanks for making our stay that special!

Joanne was so helpful, not only with the usual directions and recommendations, but really engaging with my 8 year old to help him have a fabulous time.
