The staff at reception were friendly. We had a good view of the Skye Bridge from our 1st floor room and had to ask for a shower attachment (which didn't stay on the bathtaps)and hairdryer. TV old, not digital. Bedding and towels clean. We were with a tour group. Dining and breakfast were taken in blocks ie each tour seated and served , followed by another tour and another. If you're going, ask for a 1st floor room front facing, as that seems to be best. make a friend of the resturant staff and girl on reception. For a drink go round to the Public bar on the side, its cheaper. The hotel is member of the Oxford group and in my opinion, is not a good advert for them. Public toilets along with the lounge and diningroom are bit drabby. This was our 1st visit to Scotland and it disappointed.

Stayed on the night of 7th July. Was worried because had stopped a two hotels in the same group earlier in the week. What a difference!. Rooms were clean, staff were friendly, breakfast was good, safe free car parking - and all for £40.00 per night, single room. Would reccomend.

After reading some of the reviews, i thought to my self, i would be given a room with damp carpets and beds with bugs and a dirty bath room with. Well folks you would be surprised. I was impressed with 2 key things. A very clean and comfortable bed and a clean bathroom with fresh towels. Yes it did not have a shower! So what? Yes i admit the hotel could do with a lot of improvements but for the price what does everyone expect? In summary it is a pleasant stay. My mum,wife and me liked it and would not hesitate recommending it or coming back again.

Yes the hotel is in need of a freshen up but lets be fair, at the ridiculously low rate we paid for DBB, it was great. The staff in both the reception and the restaurant were lovely and the 3 course dinner every night was good quality and very enjoyable. The rooms were clean and I will add our bathroom had a shower so I perhaps the other reviewers were just unfortunate. I would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Skye, having driven around the island, there doesn't seem to be that many large hotels anyway so you really can't do much better than the Kings Arms.
